During the time of the Terror, 1793-1794, a total of 14,000 people were executed from the guillotine, firing squads, or other methods of torture. Among the perishing of many, hostile actions were committed against the State and conspiracy (Doc 2). Collectively, the entire country was “in disarray” due to the brutal nature of the French Revolution. The nation was being attacked by the Prussian, Austrian, and British troops and the economy was in ruins as well. Through this time of panic and stress throughout the entirety of France, there were advantages for the Revolutionary Army, but also disadvantages for its people and the country in terms of enemies. The Terror in France had definitely brought advantages. Mainly, the Revolutionary army
The American Revolution began due to the corruption of the British government. The British had a monarchy in which the ruler’s descendants were given power after the ruler’s death. Thomas Paine explains that the British monarchy is not an effective form of government (Document 5). He states that man started out as all equal and that the present distribution of powers is unnatural. Paine calls hereditary succession an abominable practice.
The American Revolution War began in April of 1775 and ended in 1783. It lasted about eight years, The war was between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies. The colonist thought that the king began abusing his power and began taking advantage of them. The colonist left their motherland to the New World to get a new life and start over. At the beginning they thanked the king for the opportunity but there came a point where the colonist began seeing the king as a tyrant.
The question is how the revolutionary war changed America. The American Revolution instigated much change within the newly independent nation, particularly political and social, and to a lesser extent, economically. Although there was a slow change in America socially there was a lot of change politically the colonist rebelled against the king. America had some social change women, and slaves experienced change in society as women gained more freedoms and many slaves were set free. Overall, our nation experienced the majority of its change politically, and social issues, but change was still seen to a lesser extent economically.
Faced with his death, King Louis XVI stated to the crowd, “My people, I die innocent!” He then turned to the men who would be killing him and said, “Gentlemen, I am innocent of everything of which I am accused. I hope my blood may cement the good fortune of the French.” The sharp blade of the guillotine then fell. Once the people crowded around to watch his execution and were shown his head they chanted, “Vive la nation!
The American Revolution was an ongoing controversial topic that is the subject of many debates and historians’ studies. A war that some say was all to blame on the colonists. On the contrary to this belief, this war was to blame on the British due to their irrational acts, laws, and taxes passed. These enacted rules angered many colonists as the acts, in turn, caused bankruptcy for many citizens. The unfair ordinances resulted in a series of bloodshed battles, beginning in 1775 and ending in 1783.
Was the American Revolution unavoidable? Should King George have handled things differently? Were the colonist right in the way they reacted? Should colonist be expected to pay debts incurred by British merchants? Were all the “Acts” imposed the cause ultimate cause?

The call to revolution is often romanticized to show a needy people rising up against their oppressors. The entire population tends to advocate for the change. Unfortunately, reality is often the opposite. Even though a minority of colonists, patriots, demanded revolution the war and Revolution, itself, had a huge impact on the political, social, and economic aspects of life in the American colonies from 1775 to 1800. Politically, the time after Revolution, 1777 – 1800, was full of tension.
