People can be pressured into doing things that could potentially impact the rest of their lives. More often than not, this impact is usually negative and would result in changing the way their lives would naturally end up. In my opinion, Friar Laurence is one of these people because of the decisions he chose to make while being pressured by a child. In Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet, many people are impacted based on the pressures of one individual.
“Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, from ancient grudge break to new mutiny.” The Capulet and Montague families did not get along well but somehow their children, Romeo and Juliet fell in love. Romeo and Juliet get married and later that same day Romeo was banished for the murder of Juliet’s cousin Tybalt. Juliet’s parents want Juliet to marry Paris so she fakes her death with a potion causing Romeo to kill himself. Therefore, Friar Laurence is not responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because Romeo and Juliet are reckless and act without thinking, Romeo and Juliet’s families hate each other, and Juliet chose to fake her death to get out of marrying Paris.

The average everyday person fails to plan out many things throughout their life, but not many of them cost someone's life. But in Friar Lawrence’s case that is exactly what happened. Friar Laurence is one of the main characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet. After all, he is the one who marries them, but that does mean he was helpful.
