Luis Valdez is an amazing playwright that created the Zoot Suit Play. He is best known as the father of Chicano theater. The Zoot suit play is based on a young man named Henry Reyna who is part of a street gang called the 38th. The opening scene is at a dance, where the 38th street gang get into a clash with the Downey gang. Unfortunately Henry’s brother named Rudy starts a fight from there they both go their own ways.
Even though Rose’s stats says he belongs in the Hall of Fame, he has been banned for breaking the rules. People who break the rules should be punished. It shouldn’t matter that that person is a small child or the president of the United States. Rose, like many other athletes, has made personal mistakes that happen to become public knowledge. A unique writer is someone who expresses his or her feelings throughout his narratives. Junot Diaz in my opinion is one of those unique writers. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, raced only by his hard working mother, Junot Diaz learned very valuable lessons in his childhood that helped him become whom he is today. Not only does Junot Diaz write great stories, but he also tends to give us a feeling of what is meant to be an immigrant from the Dominican Republic in his stories. Diaz humbleness and compassion towards others can be seen in this writing.
Civilizations have been a topic of fascination for human beings for centuries. Felipe Fernandez Armesto's book on civilizations provides a comprehensive look at the evolution of human societies and the various factors that have contributed to their rise and fall. Armesto argues that civilizations are not just defined by their technological and economic advancements, but also by their cultural and social values. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the diverse cultural backgrounds that make up our world and how they have shaped the development of civilizations.
Literature has its fair share of antagonists. However, Richard Conell’s suspenseful “The Most Dangerous Game” and Frank Stockton’s “The Lady or Tiger” antagonists are first described and disguised as civilized characters but slowly are turned into sinister characters who perform heinous actions. The King from “The Lady or the Tiger” shows a bigger depth of corrupt actions as he allows his victims to choose their own destiny with the ultimate factor between life and death are the fated doors in the his arena. In “The Lady or the Tiger” the author, Frank Stockton, crafts the King as a more heinous character than General Zaroff from “The Most Dangerous Game.”
The novel Legend by Mari Lu stands out from others. Mari Lu uses a protagonist and antagonist to add a conflict in her novel. Doing this shows that “narratives contain a primary protagonist, who is the focus of the narration. In contrast, antagonists are usually portrayed in a negative fashion, and thus, viewers may feel a sense of counter empathy toward them”(Magliano 1). The antagonist should be at least the equal in strength of the protagonist, and preferably stronger.
Many stories in literature are not complete without an Antagonist. The Antagonist can be the embodiment of evil or just a roadblock for the main character to overcome. In the short story Sweat, written by Zora Neale Hurston, features an abusive husband, Sykes, as the Antagonist. Sykes dominates and abuses his hard-working wife, Delia. Whereas, Edgar Allen Poe, author of The Cask of Amontillado, uses an ambiguous relationship between Fortunato, a man full of ego and arrogance, who wrongs protagonist Montresor.
Ever heard of somebody who was claimed as a murder for three hundred people? If not, then you are going to hear about it now and be well aware of who he is . Pedro Alonso Lopez, also known as Monster of the Andes, was a colombian serial killer who was sentenced for killing eighty girls, but he claimed he murded and rapped about three hundred. Pedro Lopez was known for raping girls around his country then moved to Peru and Ecuador and all around. Pedros dad died when Benilda; his mother, was three months pregnant with her son at the time of his father's death.
The brothers generally target Russian and Italian mobsters who have done harm to society. Motivated by religion, these two brothers use lethal force to serve “good” for society. An antihero makes their own behavior questionable in the eyes of society. A protagonist antihero, generally values some of the same traits as an antagonist. Their morals are typically flawed in regards to societal norms.
In most cases, people think that the protagonist in a novel or play is the one who keeps the plot going, but really, it should be the antagonist, right? The nasty villain who schemes against the leading character’s goals or dreams. Well, in the book “Crescendo” by Becca Fitzpatrick, the malevolent character by the name of Hank Millar has been planning her death since he knew about her. His character and everything he has done has forced many events to happen that appeals to the main character Nora’s story. From the very beginning, Hank maneuvered his way into Nora’s life by dating her mother.

Oftentimes, a character has a dominant trait that cannot be overlooked. However, just because this one trait seems to encapsulate the character, it does not mean this is the only important characteristic they possess. In The Family of Pascual Duarte by Camilo José Cela, Pascual is portrayed as a very violent character, but he also has many other characteristics that help shape his personality as a whole.
