I have two questions regarding Fredrik Backman’s novel My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry. My first question is why did Elsa’s grandmother send Elsa out to deliver the letters. I think that she trusted Elsa with the letters because she felt like Elsa is the only one who is not connected to her grandmother’s past. Elsa’s grandmother might have only trusted Elsa with the letters because she thought that Elsa might be the only one that can truly understand her. Elsa is the only one that did not judge her grandmother for who she truly was. She knows that once Elsa starts something she cannot stop until she is finished with the entire mission. Elsa’s grandmother only trusted Elsa and Wolfheart with Miamas and their secret language.
