Mary Harris "Mother" Jones was a reformer who fought for the rights of workers, including child laborers. She helped everybody, even children to fight against child labor. Finally in 1938, the 1938 federal regulation of child labor is passed in the Fair Labor Standards Act is which allows minimum ages of employment and hours of work for children to be regulated by federal law. The Social Gospel wanted to help the unfortunate get skills, job training, and get themselves the opportunity to get out of poverty. The Help written by Kathryn Stockett is a moving novel about two women and their adventures of writing a book. Eugenia Phelan, otherwise known as Skeeter, and Aibileen’s partnership and friendship grow throughout the novel. These ladies are pushed to breaking points throughout the book, but seem to always return back to their old ways with each other. Skeeter and Aibileen have a strong, reliable relationship, stick together through the bad reactions and outcomes, and teach readers the value of friendship. Skeeter was a loyal member of the League.
George Jenkins High School is known for their dreadful football team but mainly their revolting bathrooms. High School presents many struggles for teenagers. One of these struggles is prominent in the lives of all who appreciates going to the bathroom with cockroach’s crawling up your leg and urine all over the floor. Nobody in high school seems to understand simple etiquette and manners when using a bathroom. The ideals are often ignored and overlooked for the sake of getting to class on time.
Jenny Lawson’s focus of her book, Furiously Happy about Horrible Things, is to educate people on the detrimental effects caused by mental illnesses. Throughout the book, Lawson develops the significance of mental illnesses with stories from many of her various experiences with mental illness. Lawson then goes on to show many methods that she uses to conquer her depression and severe anxiety. Lawson uses her exuberant and witty personality to cope with the struggles of living with a mental disorder. Along with sharing many of her own coping mechanisms, Lawson attempts to enlighten people on what to do if they see someone they love showing signs of a mental illness.

In the United States many employees may go without having health insurance. Some will go without visiting a doctor for months and even years. At the same time, most employees may spend long hours at work yet still face measuring their opportunity cost when deciding on health insurance. If that wasn’t crucial enough, many may find themselves force to work under sickened health conditions. Fortunately, recent policy reduces the impact on an economic crises and an individual setback.
During my years of being a scholar most of my writings have come mainly from research papers. My teachers would either assign a research topic or you could choose your own. Sometimes we even got readings or books that we would have to read and write a paper on. This past semester I took English 1001 and typed papers I had never learned to do before and I also learned how to do an annotated bibliography. These papers were papers like visual and rhetorical analysis.
