Gilded age 1878-1889 was the age of fast growth of industry and immigrants in America history. The production of steel and iron rose radically than other time. In contrast, the Western resources increased such as silver,lumber, and gold. As well as the transportation also improved. Railroad develop and move goods from resources rich west to east.
The Gilded Age, created a big impact with the use of technology, it affect the people and the environment of that time period. Many things helped contribute to this affect, like the Bessemer Process, railroads, oil, and light. The Bessemer process help make steel at much faster rate; therefore it helped make railroads and skyscrapers for the future. Andrew Carnegie, one of the richest men at the time, helped with the steel industry and production. He was the man who made the steel industry grow and make it built things that we thought weren't even imaginable during that period.
Economic growth affected society during the Gilded Age in many different ways, both positive and negative. Economic growth affected it in such a way that there was vast wealth, industrial workers and farmers did not share in the new prosperity, and mass immigration. It was a time of Industrialization where the United States made a jump from farms to factories. Many things were happening in the United States during this particular time period, some would say it was an era of reform and others would say that it was an era of corruption. The Gilded Age was a time for prosperity.

During the Gilded Age many inventions were created. Trains were a booming industry that provided transportation and ways to get goods to other people. Factories were a huge part of the industrialization period because while yes they took away a lot of the labor jobs they also opened opportunities for women to work in the factories, one of the negative impacts that factories had on the U.S. was the child labor problems. The Westward Expansion expand from 1807 to 1910 during that time America changed forever geographically, economically and advanced in technology. The different happenings that occurred during the Westward Expansion defined the land boundaries of the modern day the United States and various happenings and techniques during help make the modern day the United States. If the outcomes of the wars fought during the Expansion were different the modern day the United States could look very different geographically. The railroad made traveling and settling claims easier which increased the population in the west without those settlements other countries could have taken the land from U.S. by settling their citizens there. The government through the Homestead Act help many settlers become land owners and succeed in building towns in the west.

Mark Twain in the late nineteenth century founded the “Gilded” Age, which means covered with gold on the outside, but not really golden on the inside, for example, tin. This period of time was glittering on the surface but corrupt underneath. In other words, the outside looked beautiful, but the inside looked old and trashy.
The Gilded Age was to describe America in the late nineteenth century. The outside of the US seemed glamorous and splendid alongside industrial development and massive economic growth. However, the dark sides were hidden beneath it. In my perspective, I believe we are living in the 2nd Gilded age.
With more railroads being built, it helped to establish the United States, and industries in the West used the railroads to connect industry to retail markets in Eastern United States. Without railroads, it would have been hard for the Western States to expand.

Mark Twain suggested that despite the significant achievements of the United States, Americans experienced poverty. This statement is an accurate description of the lively hood people experienced in their daily lives during the Gilded Age whether it was positive or negative. Many people during this time period focused on the positive outcomes that resulted from the Gilded Age such as new inventions, the gospel of wealth, additions of land to the country, urbanization, and middle-class improvements.
