The book and movie version of the story, “A Christmas Carol” are alike, but they are also very different. There are more similarities than there are differences. In my opinion the movie is better than the book. Some people may think otherwise, but I think the movie is better. There are a lot of similarities and differences in the two.
In the book A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and the short story “A&P” by John Updike the writing styles are different. The message they deliver is similar but is expressed in a different writing style. In A Christmas Carol, the message sent to the reader is that Dickens was going against what society believed. He thought that there shouldn't be the rich and extremely poor, he believed everyone should be the same, and that the wealthier people should help the poor.
In the movie, A Christmas Carol, there are many differences than the play. Some differences in wording could be a result of the actor messing up. The movie has parts included that are not in the original play. This could be a result of more modern technology. Most of the most important things are included in both.
Charles Dickens and the Disney movie’s interpretation of Christmas Carol both portray the same message even though they depict it differently. Stave 4 in the book and in the movie have many similarities as well as differences, while still supporting the message; Your actions affect others and their impression of you. Although skeptical in the beginning, Scrooge begins to understand why he must change his ways, and he discovers what he can do to become a better person. Throughout most of the first chapter, Scrooge is very greedy. When two kind men come and ask Scrooge for a small donation to help benefit the poor Scrooge asks if any of the prisons or poorhouses are still in operation, and the men tell him: “Many can’t go there; and many would rather die.” To which Scrooge replies with: “If they rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population.” Scrooge was already being greedy by not giving money to the men, but he was also being extremely rude by saying people should hurry up and die.

On November 26, 2016, I attended the Emerald City Theatre Company production of Charles M. Schulz play Charlie Brown Christmas. The production of the play was great for the children who were in attends of the play. The production took away the 4th wall. Which help the children of the audiences be a part of the play a couple of times. Still, it 's a good and time-efficient choice for family members who are used to the animated Charlie Brown and wanting it to be the same as the TV special.

Dr. Seuss’ poem, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” can be analyzed using many different schools of criticism, however, the psychoanalytical school of criticism holds allows us to truly understand the “true meaning” behind the poem. The poem begins with a socially isolated character, the Grinch, who loathes Christmas and wishes to completely destroy it. He wants to completely eliminate Christmas from “Whoville.” The Grinch gets irritated whenever when he hears the singing from the children and sees families feasting together in the holiday season.
