Elie Wiesel was a survivor of the Holocaust that occurred during WWII. After surviving, he wrote the book Night describing what he went through. Elie and his family get removed from their home and transported to concentration camps. He describes this thoughts and feelings as he goes through these events. Elie survived the holocaust all based on chance. Elie and his father were separated from the rest of the family as soon as they arrived at the camps. They approached an SS officer, his “baton was moving constantly, sometimes to the right, sometimes to the left” (31). Elie was pointed to the left worried to see where it would destine his father.
