Martin Luther King, Jr. believed heaven and earth to be real. He believed in the supernatural, but he also knew right here and right now was real and problems now must be addressed. If asked how he knows this he would say because it has been revealed in the Bible, and could also be revealed by prayer and loving others as oneself. MLK believed the nature of man has been revealed through the teachings of Jesus, and not by class struggle like many other Prophetic Activists. Martin Luther King, Jr. called for all men to be equal, so he wanted a government that would give everyone freedom and equality under the law.

Over time many things change; laws, beliefs, and even people. But what causes change? Does disobedience create these things to changes? Henry David Thoreau believed that it was one's obligation to disobey laws that were unjust. His actions inspired Mahatma Gandhi to take civil action against Britain how was ruling over them at the time, leading to their independence. Martin Luther King Jr. also believed in civil disobedience which helped him united the majority of African Americans to protest with him in nonviolent ways leading to great change in american societies. But not all disobedience is effective for example, before MLK many Africans wanted to make a change but their anger clouded their judgment leading to deadly riots and protests

Many things in this world affect people 's lives every day, but the thing that stands out most is the power of one. When someone performs an act of kindness or a good deed, that spreads. It creates a ripple effect and it all started with one person. When I think of the power of one, one man comes to mind; Martin Luther King, Jr. He fought for what he believed in. He was an inspiration to many African Americans, and he made a change that shapes our country to this day. Martin Luther King, Jr. is an excellent example of what one man can do.

Martin Luther King, Jr. believed in only using non-violence in his activism. He used methods like peaceful resistance and non-violent protests. King was already known for organizing and carying out civil rights protests peacefully in the south. I think Kennedy also changed his mind because he saw the success King had already made while working with the SCLC and he knew that it might hurt him politically if he got in the middle of the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King Jr's type of activism would have been a much better choice to allow in Washington than the type Malcolm X used.

He writes down their complain that he is an “outsider” who has come to Birmingham to cause trouble . He defends his right to be there in a straightforward, humble tone, explaining that the SCLC is based in Atlanta but operates throughout the South. One of its affiliates had invited the organization to Birmingham, which is why they came. But he then provides a moral reason for his presence, saying that he came to Birmingham to battle injustice.
