There can be a lot of problems that may happen in the Conodoguinet Creek. One problem is that there might be an excess amount of algae hogging up all the space in the water. This can be caused by fertilizer washing into the creek. It can even come from someone fertilizing their front yard. Also, there can be a high acidity level in the water, which can be unhealthy and hazardous to the fish. This can be caused due to an excess amount of acid rain in the area. These are some of the problems that can hurt the creek.

When visiting the creek my hypothesis was that the creek was going to be high in eutrophication and the ph scale was going to be on the acidic side. There are many reasons as to why I think this. Also, there was different categories of critters in the water. There are 846 critters in group 1, 288 critters in group 2, 466 critters in group 3. Due to the experiment of the water velocity, we found out that the velocity is random at each point. This is good, because it means that the dissolved oxygen levels are to be high. The crayfish, belonging to the crustacean group is plentiful in the creek. This can mean that the river is not polluted or has little pollution. The phosphates and nitrates levels in the creek were low or nonexistent. This is good because this means that algae won’t be growing in the creek or there will be very little. There was a large and considerable amount of macroinvertebrates in the creek. This means that the creek can support that much macroinvertebrates. The high amount of limestone in the creek neutralized the acid rain that was pouring on the creek. This can also make ph scale go into the alkaline side of the ph scale.
