A True Friend
I really do not think I could have weathered all the challenges and made it through my childhood without true friends. Whether gossiping over a drink with Joseph and James, passing last year’s festivities with Maggie, hashing out my goals with Sara (my power-walk partner) or commiserating with Hannah about my setbacks, each of these friends have helped me to remain balanced and have made my life worth living. My inner cycle has never failed me. It has been there for me over the years and in countless times and I have always tried to ensure I reciprocate with as much support, love and time as possible. Researchers suggest that the society is ignoring the importance of friendship in helping solve modern social problems

Establishing strong social ties helps reduce stress; helps keep off weight; stave off the problem of memory loss as one grows older; boost immunity; buffers against depression, and reduces stress (Berkman 64). It has also been indicated that there is a strong longevity link between longer live and supportive relationships. If one has supportive relationships, he or she is more likely to live longer. A review of 150 studies reported that individuals with strong social ties were about 50% more likely to survive longer compared with those with weaker ties regardless of health status, sex, age and cause of death. The researcher noted that health risks of having fewer social ties was more dangerous than not exercising or being obese and was akin to smoking about 15 cigarettes a day (Putnam 83). More revealing is the fact that true friends are valuable assets when battling certain medical conditions such as obesity and heart diseases. A study involving 2,330 breast cancer patients showed that the strength of friendship is the key predictor of cancer survival and recurrence (Cohen
“A friend will strengthen you with his prayers, bless you with his love, and encourage you with his love,” (Proverb Zone). Friendship is the helping of others by inviting them to be a part of one’s life. In Chris Crutcher’s Whale Talk, T.J. has to build a swim team that can achieve a letterman jacket to prove others wrong about themselves. Friendship is seen throughout many books including this one. In Whale Talk, Chris Crutcher demonstrates friendship ensures that people are not alone through school teams, anti-bullying, and mentorship.
Her emotional and social performance relies on fickle solidity that influences those around her. After Heather recommended Melinda seek professional help for her depression after breaking up their friendship, Melinda asks, “Isn’t that what friends are for, helping each other out in bad times?” (106). I interpret this quote as a tactic of manipulation, with the intention of making Heather feel sorry for defending her own well-being. Though Heather, as a social climber, broke their friendship for the wrong reasons, Melinda’s reaction is enough for me to understand her morals and perspectives on what friendship means to her.
Friendships and relationships mean the most to me when it comes to how I want to live my life. There are two important qualities that I think can lead to having a strong relationship or friendship with family and friends and that 's honesty and trust. First of all honesty can break a relationship depending on what the subject is about. For example my brother has always been a good liar ever since I can remember. When I was little he used to tell me things and I always believed him because I mean he was my brother why would he want to lie and as the day would pass I would realize he lied to me again.
In the introduction to “ How To Live TO 100+” Dan Buettner talks about longer living. Specifically, Buettner argues that the style of living depends on peoples’ activities. According to Buettner “ when your three best friends are obese, there is a 50 percent better chance that you will be overweight. If you hang out with unhealthy people, that is going to have a measurable impact over time.” Although the perception is that bad friends have diverse impacts on lifestyle, I have mix feelings it really depends on people education level.
Friendship is strong and can last a lifetime. In John Green's “Freak the Geek “a girl has Has problems in Hoover Prep School with older girls. She uses the power of friendship to get through tough times with her best friend. Lauren makes in through challenges and the struggles of Hoover Prep School with the power of friendship. This friendship leads to her being able to cope with the school and helps her build bravery at the same time.
How friendships are gained and get stronger When people think about friends, they usually have their own unique stories and experiences. Anyone who has read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie knows that the main character of the book, Arnold, is the same way. When we talk about Arnold's pals, we think of Rowdy; his friend from the reservation. We also think of the friends that he gained from when he moved to Reardan High School which were Gordy, Roger and Penelope. Through these friends, Alexie shows us that friendships can be gained and grow stronger from new and unique experiences like, tough love, small actiones turning into bigger relationships and kindness and generosity.

Tough love. Selflessness. Making hard decisions for friends when needed is key to a good friendship. A great example would be if someone is really struggling, a friend will do what they can to help them no matter how hard it can be. This connects back to how friendship comes with sacrifices.
Anyone who changes from being troubles to honoring their friendships is a testament for improvement made from the relationships made there. Even if not all relationships inspire positive growth, a good relationship can shine like a beacon surrounded like darkness for
People say friendship is key to life and i really think it is because they help you so much in ways you can't even explain.

Friendship is an important part of the human life that guides human existence that guides how two humans in mutual understanding and relationship relate to each other. The source of the reciprocated goodwill brings the difference between perfect or complete friendships and imperfect or incomplete friendships.

“A true friend accepts who you are and helps you become who you should be.” Steve and Nathaniel proved that friendship and happiness can be real in the novel The Soloist by Steve Lopez. The way friendship is portrayed in the novel is unexpected in such a way that we don’t see it happen often in our daily life. It is important to our society because finding a true friend is really difficult to find. True friendship is hard to find now in days because we expect many things in return from other people.
