Beowulf has proven that he is fit to be an ideal hero and king. Beowulf has saved many lives by purging evil. He had reigned over the Geats for fifty years. Beowulf is widely respected for what he had accomplished. Even though Beowulf is regarded as a hero, he has faced many hardships.

And BEOWULF, Beowulf risks HIS life to save his people. He is very similar to superheroes in today’s world but, Beowulf is to be considered the very first and greatest hero of them all. Beowulf exemplifies the characteristics of a Modern Day Hero.
Nowadays, throughout the world, there are many heroes and monsters that roam around the world in people’s eyes. A hero is a person, typically a man, who is admired or idolized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. A monster on the other hand is an imaginary creature that is typically large, ugly, and freighting. In the story Beowulf, heroes and monsters are displayed throughout the book, that lead to suffering of men and defeat of great monsters.
Beowulf fulfills all the requirements of an epic hero. First, he is the Prince of the Geats and the nephew of his king. This satisfies the need for a noble person. Second, Beowulf is of historical importance as he is the focus of the epic poem Beowulf. The focus on him and belief that he was real makes him legendary and important to come cultures.

A hero is classified as a person who is admired for their bravery, achievements, or nobility. Although Beowulf displays all these qualities, there are several reasons he is not a hero, mainly him being egotistical and arrogant. This is why Beowulf is not a heroic person. Beowulf is often caught bragging about himself and his great accomplishments.
Taking risk is something we do every day and we may not even know it. Just walking outside is taking a risk; you could get killed or someone can take you. Also, taking a risk help us grow as a person and we can learn from taking those risks. It makes us who we are. Something taking risks can have a good and a bad outcome.
Beowulf was a heroic figure in the epic poem “Beowulf”, but was he an Ideal epic hero? He slayed both Grendel and his mother, but was he lucky or powerful? There is evidence that he is an ideal hero: he willingly was ready to fight whatever was scaring the Danes, killing Grendel and his mother, and returning to give all he just earned to his king. There is also reasons he's not: his courage and pride has flaws and he got lucky in the fight against Grendel's mother.
