Lady Macbeth's Descent To Evil Analysis

In William Shakespeare 's play 'Macbeth ', Macbeth changes dramatically from Act 1 to Act 5. While in Act 1 Macbeth is seen as a noble and loyal warrior which contrasts to Act 5 where he is described as a "coward" and a "tyrant". While Macbeth 's actions are promoted by the witches, Lady Macbeth and his own desire lead them to choosing the actions they undertake which drives Macbeth 's undoing. If it wasn’t for the manipulative behaviour of Lady Macbeth and the impatient ambition Macbeth displays, Macbeth may have never engaged in the actions which led to his own demise.

Second, Macbeth is aware of his tragic flaw, but he does not choose to better himself. Lastly, although being influenced by the witches, Macbeth makes the choice to believe in the witches and to take certain actions. To begin with, Macbeth is greatly influenced by Lady Macbeth. She “is depicted by Shakespeare as an equal of Macbeth in the realm of ambition and ruthlessness; without her, in fact, Macbeth 's courage may never have reached the ‘sticking-place’” (Moss & Wilson 7).

Lady Macbeth is the next reason for Macbeth’s actions because without her support of encouraging him to kill Duncan, Macbeth would have have never had the strength to kill and destroy to major extremes. In fact, his name was Anakin and he was one of the protagonists. As for the play Macbeth, the transition from good to evil is very similar. Macbeth starts out as a war hero and loving husband, but in the end he is the villain. Throughout the play, Macbeth transforms from a noble soldier to a tyrannical King due to Lady Macbeth’s influences. Lady Macbeth is responsible for Macbeth’s transformation because she taunts him, forces greed and downplays murder.

It could be suggested that macbeth is responsible for the death of king Duncan. According to my point of view, Macbeth didn’t killed Duncan , banquo and macduff 's family because he wanted to be evil because he met the witches .He did everything because of ambition, jealousy , lust for power and because he was power hungry from the beginning.

William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, the main character; Macbeth, is seen as an evil character. The play is based off of Macbeth’s decisions and his actions to become King. In the beginning Macbeth starts out as a hero in Scotland’s war with Ireland and towards the end he is transformed into a murderer. Macbeth is not wholly evil because of is heroism in the war, his love for Scotland, and because he didn’t want to kill King Duncan initially. Macbeth was brain washed by his wife and tricked into killing the King.

Shakespeare, like any other man in the 16th and 17th century, saw ambitious and dominant women as evil and even disturbing or disturbed. From Macbeth, we can see Shakespeare feels women should be challenged and punished because they are trying to change society. Nowadays these ambitious and dominant women are regarded as brave and respected because of their ambition, such as Lady Macbeth’s ambition to become Queen.

From murder to greed Shakespeare’s Macbeth portrays a story of how one’s flaws can transform into a person’s way of thinking and acting. Throughout the play, Lady Macbeth changes from a cold-hearted, greedy, shell of a human body into a guilt ridden woman. Her selfish desires met with ambition and a want for power pushed her into driving Macbeth to kill Duncan. Both Lady Macbeth and Macbeth become very guilty because of the crime they have committed. Although Macbeth actively kills the King, Lady Macbeth was more guilty of Duncan’s murder than Macbeth.

Lots of people know about Lady Macbeth, but is she as evil as people think? In the play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, a very controversial topic is Lady Macbeth being evil or not. In the play, she starts off being a manipulative wife to her husband, as far as to kill the king. But later she kills herself out of guilt when Scotland is in shambles. Lady Macbeth, after much investigating is truly an evil character, as well as manipulative.

Lady Macbeth agrees with their plan to become royal. Throughout Macbeth, Macbeth commits unspeakable crimes and is feared by many. Though Macbeth was the one slaughtering all the people,Lady Macbeth is more to blame. This is because of her savage, and disturbed mind throughout all the murders committed by Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth plans to invite king Duncan over for dinner, but really she is convincing Macbeth to murder him. She influences him to kill Duncan because he is the only one standing in the way of Macbeth becoming king. Lady Macbeth plans the killing but convinces Macbeth to do the dirty deed. Lastly, Lady Macbeth is one of the causes of Macbeth’s failure because she repeatedly questions Macbeth’s manhood until she persuades him to make a bad choice. “When you durst do it then you were a man” (1.7.53-58).

How does Lady Macbeth change over the course of the play? Over the course of the play the characters of both Macbeth and his wife Lady Macbeth develop intensively. They share similar ambitions, but it is Lady Macbeth who dares to do unspeakable things to accomplish them. This creates great conflict within Lady Macbeth who does not conform to the traditional female stereotypes of her epoch.

Lady Macbeth is shown, as a character that schemes into making rebellious plots. She reveals the desire for wanting to lose her feminine qualities in order to be able to gain more masculine ones.

She was so paranoid over the ordeal that she eventually killed herself. Even though she died before Macbeth, she still had an influence on what he did. Eventually, it leads to his death and treason. In conclusion, Lady Macbeth is more responsible for King Duncan’s murder, and Macbeth’s treason, than Macbeth himself.
