In act one, Macbeth and Banquo found three witches. The witches predict that Mabeth will get two good offers. One of them being the Thane of Cawdor, and the other was King of Scotland. Even though Banquo's long distant family will be kings, he isn't promised to have the kingdom himself. The witches leave but the generals are still wanting to hear more.
Soon after, King Duncan crowned Macbeth Thane of Cawdor. This was a reward because Macbeth had been so successful in so many battles. Lady Macbeth hears about her husband's new title and promises to help him become king, no matter what she has to do. King Duncan planned on coming back to Macbeth's castle. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth planned on killing him.
Once Duncan gets back to Mabeths castle, Macbeth plots how he will kill him. He is going to wait until everyone is sleeping.

Macbeth thinks about how Banquo's family will inherit the throne and it could go to him and his son. He then thinks he has to kill them both. Banquo is killed, but his son gets away.That same night at a banquet, Macbeth sees a ghost of Banquo. Macbeth starts freaking out and his wife tries to calm him down.
Macbeth goes to try and find the witches and they say he will be safe until Birnam Wood marches against him in battle. He is also told he should not fear anyone born a woman. Then they tell him Banquo's son will get the Scottish succession. Macbeth gets mad and slaughters Macduff's family. Maduff leaves to go find one of Duncan's sons, Malcolm. While Malcolm is full of grief and anger, Macduff tells him he should raise an army against Macbeth.
Macbeth is told that Birnam Wood is coming towards them. They are carrying tree branches so they can be camouflaged. Then, Lady Macbeth, while sleepwalking, tells her doctor all the things she's done. She then commits suicide. While the battle is just starting, Macbeth hears about his wife and he mourns her
Macbeth arrives at his castle before the king and tells his wife of what happened. She tells him to kill the king that night but Macbeth is reluctant. When the king arrives, he is welcomed and made comfortable. That night when he goes to sleep, Lady Macbeth beguiles the guards into getting drunk and Macbeth continues to question whether he should kill
At the beginning of the play, three witch sisters told him that he would become Thane of Cawdor and the King of Scotland. Right after they told him about the prophecies, Macbeth was told that he did in fact become Thane of Cawdor. Since that prophecy came true, he began to wonder if the prophecy about him becoming King would come true. When Lady Macbeth found out about the prophecies, Lady Macbeth convinced and influenced Macbeth to kill the King so that the prophecy could come true. Macbeth was reluctant to kill the king, but that reluctance was soon overcome by the sheer determination for power that grew inside of him.
Macbeth is first introduced as Thane of Glamis, who goes to war leading the Scottish troops to victory over invading forces. On his arrival after successfully winning the battle, he meets the witches who hail him by his first title Thane of Glamis, then Thane of Cawdor, and King. This last title confused him; he wondered how he would be king if King Duncan is alive. He then sends a letter to Lady Macbeth about this revelation in which she is sold in by the thought of being queen, leading her and Macbeth to plot and execute the killing of King Duncan.
Macbeth decides he needs to take action to keep his crown, “Given to the common enemy of man/ to make them kings, the seeds of Banquo kings/ Rather than so, come Fate into the list” (3. 1. 70-72). After seeing that all of his prophecies come true Macbeth thinks about Banquo and fears losing his crown. Macbeth hires murderers to go and kill Banquo and Fleance so that he remains king.
Macbeth only becomes Thane of Cawdor, because of a traitor, but he himself later becomes a traitor. In the beginning it was easy for Macbeth to fight for his king and to honor the name of the man who ruled his land, but once he finds out his future, his entire mindset changes. Macbeth fights and wins a battle in favor for Scotland and king Duncan. A few hours after the battle, the Weird Sisters tell Macbeth what his future looks like. He becomes obsessed with the idea of becoming king and one can sense his thirst for power.
The generals want to hear more but the witches disappear. Macbeth is soon promoted to thane of cowdor Lady Macbeth hears about this and vows to assist Macbeth become king by any means necessary. Little does Macbeth know he will have to do things he is not willing to do in order to become king of scotland. He does this because he listens to other people and doesn’t take any time to think about what he is doing and how it might affect his opportunity to be king.
After Macbeth kills Duncan he becomes king and sets out to kill Banquo and his son Fleance so they, he kills Banquo but Fleance escapes. Macbeth becomes hated by his people and ends up fighting
As Macbeth strode down the long cold hallway towards the door he could hardly keep the smile from coming through to the surface. Macbeth opened the door and heard the satisfying creak of the old rusted hinges. He walked into the room and saw Lady Macbeth sitting in a chair near the corner of the room. She swiftly got up and leisurely walked up to him and they shared a nice tender kiss. As their kiss comes to an end Lady Macbeth adopted the smile that Macbeth had been trying to keep locked away.
Macbeth, urged by his wife, murders the King, takes over the throne, and kills more people out of fear. The play ultimately argues
The tragedy play Macbeth by William Shakespeare tells the story of a hero’s journey to kingship. Macbeth begins the play as a war hero in the army of King Duncan. He was advised by three witches that he would soon become the Thane of Cawdor and eventually the King of Scotland. He is then named Thane of Cawdor since the previous one was being executed for betrayal. That day, Macbeth writes to his wife, Lady Macbeth, to tell her about the prophecy.
Macbeth shows that he is willing to kill King Duncan because he is interested in the witches prophecy, after they tell him that he will become ‘Thane of Cawdor’ and then the King.
He reveals that he is not strong minded and is easily influenced by those around him. It is through Banquo that one can actually identify Macbeth with these traits. If it were not for Banquo’s calm and responsible reaction to the foretelling, it would be difficult to hold Macbeth on a basis on the appropriate way to respond to the situation. Banquo is not after sole success, and still considers himself successful even with his sons being heirs to the kingdom. With this genuine appreciation, we are able to view Macbeth as a greedy and irrational character.

Macbeth hides behind a mask to demonstrate a different look to others. Macbeth is desperately trying to involve a different personality to show that he can be the Kingship and Thane of Cawdor.
At the banquet one of the assassin’s tells Macbeth that Banquo now lies dead and his son has escaped. This news disturbs Macbeth and when he returns to the banquet table the ghost of Banquo. When the ghost dissipates Macbeth makes a toast for Banquo. The guests are then dismissed as Macbeth goes on a rant. Macbeth tells his wife that he will go visit the witches once more.
