This saying that even though having books and courses should be free and parents should not have to pay for that but because parents are not paying for their children to play sports the school is making them pay for books and courses instead. In the text it said “Fees are good for school sports. They weed out players who aren 't serious about a sport. That makes teams stronger. Fees also make students put a higher value on playing”.
While academics are important, students should spend time playing sports, socializing, doing chores, etc. In addition, most schools only have the budget to pay the best students, so competition between classmates would increase. Overall, the stress added by offering monetary awards is not beneficial. In conclusion, high schools should not pay their students for receiving good grades. Money is not always the best incentive for achievement, especially because it often builds stress and greed.
Students don’t take advantage of the opportunities they are provided in high school, like dual-enrollment, that could save them time and money in college. Every year students are given the opportunity to do dual enrollment, which would save them hundreds of thousands in college, but most miss the chance and are required to take remedial classes in college. According to
A lot of schools make students wear uniforms when they believe they should wear whatever they want. I agree with these students and I wouldn’t want to be forced to wear a uniform either. To begin, parents don’t want to pay the extra money for a school uniform. It’s extremely expensive and the student 's parents have to buy even more appliances on top of that. Let’s weigh the pros and cons of school uniforms states, “The cost of uniforms is prohibitive, especially when a family includes more than one school-aged child.” Some parents that are on a strict budget don’t want to and can’t pay the extra money for a uniform.
They won't be able to play and may drop out, it is not fair to the student. This means that schools will lose kids instead of gaining them. A little thing like someone disagreeing with sports or a little problem with your budget shouldn’t change the Nation's pastime. Schools are making a big mistake if they take away sports, this will harm students.Sports help kids get more focused, and can help them in school.Kids won’t be brighter and smarter from sports. Sports help kids with school more than you think, it is also fun for kids.
Having to deal with school all year with spread out and sparse breaks would become immensely annoying to students and would lower their performance in school. The constant work load would also tire students out much more quickly than traditional school years. Summer break gives students a good amount of time to refresh themselves and get back into school more easily, but if this is shortened or cut out completely, students don't get this refresher. Students on this schedule do still get just as many break days, they are just much more spread out and sparse. Year-round schooling just doesn't give students enough time to feel refreshed enough to want to get back into
So if they start paying athletes, this could lead to more little programs within the college to be discontinued. There are some colleges that could afford to pay the athletes, however this would lead to these colleges losing students due to having to pay more or other school who do not pay the athletes lose student athletes because they do not pay them. So if colleges started paying athlete more, than the school it self would have to raise tuition and then students would have to pay more for the classes. This leading to students not wanting to go to college and or dropping out because of the hirer tuition. Not only this but if colleges start paying the athletes and the schools end up having to kick out smaller programs.
(Weller 3). This is a problem because it takes away quality family time from students, which is essential for their well-being. Thirdly, a second benefit is that the year-round schooling system helps solve the problem of overcrowding. (Zubrzycki 1). Since all students wouldn 't be in school all at the same time, it eliminates the overcrowding problem.
School Sports should be expelled from School. This should be done because of cost, Effect on academics and education, and problems the cause with family life. Sports in have become a natural occurrence in school The first reason why sports should not be affiliated with school 's is expense. According to Michel Martin from NPR, the average school pays 2x as much on football players than on math students. This should be a clear reason why sports should be gone because schools pay 2x as much on a small percent of the student body whereas, all students take math classes.
Amanda Ripley demonstrates the consequences for having school sports in “The Case Against High School Sports” because schools are spending too much money on their sports and can be solved. The author brings to the reader’s eye that sports cost way too much money and should be cut. I think Ripley is wrong because even though it cost a lot of money, they should still keep the sports. If they cut the sports, then it’s not fair to the students that are graduating because they could of had a chance to get a scholarship. If the schools cut the sports, then there is no chance for the students.
