The Urban Honors College, in my family, has always been seen as an advantageous program to be a part of. Urban Honors is a rigorous program, but it provides many great opportunities too. It separates a groups of students, who all have a similar drive for excellence, from the rest of the student body and allows them to flourish. For this very reason I want to join this program. I want the challenge of a more difficult workload, while attending PSU and I feel the Urban Honors College is my best choice. I like the idea of being in a small class with students who are just as driven to succeed as I am. Not only that but I feel that having the challenge of applying learning to the real world will help me better my understanding of the material
I personally believe that UNC Wilmington will allow me to grow academically as a student as well as an adult. Being from a small town in Maine I have always been the type of person to try new things and live to the fullest. When I decided to go to college, my mind was set on staying close to home my first year and getting the feel of what it is like. I strongly feel I am a very independent person and enjoy the challenges of doing things on my own. I have changed my mind many times on a career path I wish to pursue I don’t find it easy for someone my age to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life.
My choice of college would be Stone Brook University! Why? Well is because it's in a suburban area that reminds me that I'm still home and most of all it is a one hour drive from where I live(Obviously the university it is located in Stony Brook). The college itself is a public institution with an undergraduate enrollment of 16,480 students. The college was founded in 1957 and it is considered as one of the top best colleges, ranking as #89 in the class of National Universities Ranking.
My interest in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. sparked when I met Sheila Hudson. At the time I had no idea that she was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. What I saw in Shelia Hudson was a smart, accomplished, proficient women who completely shattered all of my preconceived expectations of what I thought a sorority girl was supposed to be like.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
I’m interested in Purdue Honors College because the opportunities it offers would allow me to satiate my desire for: a challenging curriculum, knowledge, and the chance to obtain the tools necessary for me to continue learning, challenging myself, and succeeding well after I have left the campus behind for the next stage of my life. Furthermore, attending the Honors College provides me with a diversely brilliant and equally driven community to explore the major questions about the universe, it’s contents, and world changing ideas. Moreover, attending Purdue provides the chance to build interpersonal and intrapersonal skills that I’ll use to form relationships to last a lifetime. Also, the Honors College gives the impression that it is one of
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
Jack Ma once said, “The world needs new leadership, but the new leadership is about working together.” This could not be more true at Boston University through its Kilachand Honors College. I believe it is because their approach of interdisciplinary problem-solving, is about expanding students’ world-views. In this program you are learning with different individuals who have different interest and fields of study. According to Pew Research Center, “Political polarization is the defining feature of early 21st century American politics...”.
Every academic institution has a set of objectives that are lined with a purpose. The purpose is to educate individuals to be well -rounded members of society. These individuals may become leaders or simply productive members of society, however it is their education that gives them the backbone to be either. Every organization has a set of goals and a mission that separates it from all other institutions as well as gives it a certain reputation in the community. The overall mission, vision, philosophy, and goals are the underlying purpose of the organization that makes it unique, Iwasiw(2015).
I am accustomed to a rigorous course load and having to manage my time. Being a part of the Honors College, surrounded by those who share the same ideals and high standards as I do, will only further my success. Living in an academically inclined environment would allow for me to make great working relationships and friendships! Not only that, but the Honors College provides many opportunities for study groups and extra help; which will be rather beneficial considering I am planning on majoring in biochemistry. I would be an exceptional candidate for the Honors College because I am not only interested in getting a fantastic education, but I want to get involved in the school and make my college experience the best that it can be.
Berry College caught my attention through all the wonderful and diverse opportunities it gives. Being a Florida resident, I will get to experience Georgia the best way possible. Berry College is the world’s largest college campus with 27,000 acres. I know with such a big campus, I will be able to experience college with a wide variety of views. I will get many opportunities.
The honors program is a community that links all alumni to current students for their benefit. In doing so, honors students can connect with mentors that will aid them in their success at UGA and after. The honors program has strong attributes that would make my time at UGA all the more
Whether it is teaching through my dance studio or pursuing a teaching career. As a result of joining the program I will see all the good that comes from teaching and all the exciting things that I look forward to experiencing when I hopefully have a classroom of my own! In joining the program I will also be able to see the obstacles that come with teaching and how to overcome those and figure out what the smartest way to work through challenges would be. Teacher cadet will also allow me to get a better insight into what grade level I would prefer to teach in the future. I want to be able to use my teacher cadet experience to reach my goals and help get a jump start on my educational career while continuing to further my own education.
From a young age, I have known and understood the true importance of obtaining a college education and have strived to be the first in my family to attend college. Since then, PSJA ISD has helped me want to further my education after high school by integrating college curriculum into the classroom. The Ivy League Tour is yet another academic opportunity that I can benefit from. By being selected to participate in this Ivy League Tour, I would gain knowledge of the post high school opportunities that lay beyond the Rio Grande Valley, get a better understanding of the college environment, and garner more motivation to make my dream career a reality.
For the past 4 years, I’ve walked into the same building every single morning. Admittedly, there have been some days where the first thing I said to my friends was about how I couldn’t wait to graduate. Now, though, as I have less than two months left at Highland High School, I’m beginning to dread the day when I will no longer walk the same halls that I’ve grown so accustomed to. Before entering high school, I’d heard all the horror stories presented by Hollywood and young adult novelists.
To The Search Committee, I am contacting you to express my interest in the Assistant Director for the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Pace University as posted HigherEdJobs.com. As a candidate for this position, I feel as though my lived experience partnered with my professional and extracurricular experiences will be the driving force in my success at your institution. As a non-binary identified person of color, providing an inclusive space while challenging others to explore identities, their own and others, through an intersectional lens is a task that I am more than willing to take on. I am a graduate of SUNY Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management with a minor in Music: Studio Composition. In addition, I have received a Master
