There are a lot of themes in “Night” but there are a couple really big themes that are important for the reader to know, and understand and I am going to be talking about them threw this essay. Team work is a big theme with the “Night” because Ellie and his father place in a concentration camp where they are forced to work to death. They have to work with each other to survive the hard times. In the book Ellie feeds his father when he is weak and sick. They also got to work with each other in a factory to put things together or else they will be killed.
In the book the night by Elie Wiesel, He recounts the horrors that happened during the Holocaust. This happened in the time periods of 1933 and 1945. At the time of 1933 and 1945 a kid named Elle had to learn to become an adult at such a young age. And his fellow jews were taken to camps in cattle cars. The book describes the horrible things that happened to them on the way there and at the camps.
In the book Night, we the readers witness the hardships and struggles in Elie’s life during the traumatic holocaust. The events that take place in this story are unbearable and are thought to be demented in modern times. In the beginning Elie is shown as a normal teenage Jewish boy, but the events are so drastic that we the readers forget how he was like in the beginning. Changes were made to Elie during the book, whether they were minor or major. The changes generated from himself, the journey, and other people.

Elie loved his father and after a selection that could cost him his life, he was almost more concerned about whether his father passed and not himself. Elie wanted to live so badly so he could be with his father that it helped him push through his weariness, and run faster than he ever thought he could and helped him not be selected.
Hope is an important part of daily life for many people. Though in the holocaust many people were in terrible situations, some still managed to have hope. In Elie Wiesel’s novel, Night, Elie tells his tale of the time he spent in a large number of concentration camps and his novel contains many instances of hope. Hope is the most prominent theme amongst the other themes included in this novel. The theme of hope is used frequently throughout the book.
Family is always there to help us and to get us through rough times. Night by Elie Wiesel took place in 1944 and is an autobiography telling us about Elie 's time in the concentration camps. In the novel, they went to four different camps. Those camps were, Birkenau, which is the reception center for Auschwitz, then to Buna, Gleiwitz, and finally to Buchenwald where they were saved by American troops. By examining the novel Night, we can see that family is the key to survival, which is important because those who do not have family often aren 't able to survive because they don 't have someone pushing them forward and helping them in life.
The most tragic theme in ‘Night’ is Elie’s discovery of the way that the atrocities and cruel treatment can make good people into brutes. Being recruited into these camps cause obvious physical, psychological, and emotional effects. In the beginning Elie received black coffee in the morning, soup at noon, and “bread and something” in the evening (Wiesel 40). The holocaust induces psychological changes on others. For instance, if you live in a normal life and you are used to being in control of your own life, waking up one day and not having that control or being bossed around by a higher authority, is a huge change.
My theme for night was the preservation of self over others. Throughout the book many people become selfish and start to care only of themselves including Elie. The reason why I chose this as my theme is because I find it very interesting how under certain situations people change very rapidly. Elie soon comes to realize this , but does little to change it. Mostly ,because he needs to be this way in order to survive.
Night Summary In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, pages twenty-three through twenty-four explain that he was kept in a train with horrific conditions. Wiesel and many other Jews were stuffed in a train that was meant for cattle. They had very little food, air, and water in this train.

The road to a relationship with God is not straight, it is ever changing with challenges and curves and ups and downs. This is a main theme in the memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel, where Elie has a struggling relationship with God. He thinks that God has abandoned him and his dad so he does not feel the need to continue his relationship with God. Elie was excited about his faith but the holocaust makes him feel angry and confused with God. Elie 's faith excites him from a young age and he wants to learn more about God.

Night is the story of Elie Wiesel surviving Nazi concentration camps as a teenager. The original Yiddish publication of Night was 900 pages and titled And the World Remained Silent. Despite low sales originally, Night has now been translated into thirty languages and has become a classic. In the book Night, the character that contradicts Elie’s resilient attitude is his father when he loses the motivation to survive while Elie has the motivation to survive, the lesson to be learned through these two characters would be the importance of family.

Family is essential when going through an extremely dark, depressing, lonely period of time, like the Wiesel's did. Elie and his father experienced things that are unimaginable and couldn’t have made it as far as they did without each other. Throughout the book Night the author Elie Wiesel is trying to accomplish the goal of making people understand that there will be difficulty throughout life and family will be there to make the hard times easier. Elie uses imagery, symbolism, and flashbacks to explain the importance of family after his tragic trauma.
