My scientist’s full name is Thomas Alva Edison. Thomas Alva Edison came into this world February 11, 1847 in Milan Ohio. Edison left this world October 18, 1931 and when he died he was Llewellyn Park, New Jersey. Edison was married to Mary Stilwell from 1871-1884, then married Mina Miller 1886-1931. Thomas had 6 kids and their names was Marian, Thomas, William, Madeleine, Charles, and Theodore. Edison studied multiple things including, telegraph technology and electrical science, Edison also worked for the Associated Press. Thomas Edison is mostly famous for the electric light bulb, but he also made the phonograph. The light bulb was created in 1879 and he was in Menlo Park, New Jersey. The electric light bulb changed this world, just imagine walking through your house with no lights! Electrical light bulbs just did big things and Edison created/invented that. The phonograph was also a very big invention it is not used much anymore but that is because it has evolved. The phonograph was created in the year 1877 in Newark, New Jersey. The phonograph is a record player, but the record player has evolved and now the new record player is pretty much a speaker. In 1887 he won the matteucci medal, in 1889 he received the john scott medal, in 1899 he received the edward longstreth medal of the franklin institute, in 1904 he was an honorable consulting engineer at Louisiana purchase exposition world’s fair, in 1908 he was given the John Fritz medal, in 1915 he received Franklin medal of the Franklin institute, in 1920 he received the navy distinguished service medal, in 1927 he was given membership in the national academy of sciences, and on May 29, 1928 he received the congressional gold medal. In 2008 Edison was inducted in the New Jersey hall of fame, in 2010 he was honored with a technical grammy award, and in 2011 he was inducted in the entrepreneur walk of fame and named great
