The island of Utopia is a kind of positive counter-image of what might be England, if it was better governed. Thomas More describes his ideal society which is an island. It is an island because isolation on the outside is essential to the proper functioning of the ideal society. Utopia is Impossible Many people want to build an utopian society, but nobody succeed. So we need to know why that can not be successed. At this point, I found that in a book called written by Lois Lowry, people wanted to build an utopian community. They thought this is utopia, but in fact this is dystopia because people in the community have to follow tons of rules, they cannot see colors and they don’t know what is love.

Thomas More’s imagined society of Utopia is a country filled with unique laws and customs that differ greatly from those of modern day nations. Even in More’s own time these ideas of how a country should be run were considered impossible to implement. One such feature of the Utopian Republic which may seem odd today, but was vital to the Utopians, is that the importance of the community be placed above the importance of the individual. Focusing too closely on one’s own wants and needs leads to a selfish negligence of the needs of others. In a society where one man’s work provided for the majority of the population, an attitude of selfishness was detrimental to community welfare.
The Feast The dictionary definition of the word utopia means an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect. It represents a paradise. It is fair to say that every one of us has our own utopia. Whether it is a place where we do not have any essays to write or a place where there is an infinite number of essays to be written is entirely up to you.
There where many Utopias, here are a few. The Rappites. In 1816, the Rappites came from the Shakers, one of the bigger Utopian communities. They isolated themselves from other communities. George Rapp Lead 600 people to live in the community.
As the colonies began to grow, the idea of individualism took over the Utopian Dream. American’s dreamed of having a society free of class rule, and believed that they were accomplishing just that. They believed in egalitarianism, in which everyone would be the same. But, this was just a belief, in reality economic and population growth caused only the rich to get richer, while the rest of the population remained the same or got poorer. (Nash 2)
Deviance is described as a violation of culture norms. In Jonestown as a Perverse Utopian they described it as a cult. There are cults all round the world however, it is not a norm to be in on or know of one personally. On December 8th, due to their utopian cult there was a mass suicide of 911 people. The leader believed that for many years the “followers needed” to be poisoned with opium and then cyanide.

The story “The Ones Who Walk away from Omelas” is a story that can relate to the real world that we are living in today, being able to be pleasured without guilt. Although the world is not much as a Utopian world for people, but more of a place where someone who wants to be pleasured or happy without feeling guilty. Our civilization is willing to take guiltless trips in or to be happy or satisfied, not knowing what danger they could be causing. In the story, there is a Summer Festival that attracts numerous amount of people of various ages.

Sir Thomas More’s utopian idea consists of the abolishment of all types of private property. This idea can not be realized in the real world; but in a fantasy world without the human influence, such an idea would work in theory. Sir Thomas More explains in this excerpt that, in the real world, laws can essentially lessen the importance of private property, but the effects of such belongings still exist. Therefore, the problem cannot disappear and the utopian society cannot exist while human nature still exists .
The motto of the Utopia in Brave New World is ¨ Community, Identity, Stability.¨ They hold these three ideals together but producing all citizens into the version they want and literally pumping into their heads that they like the way they live and wouldn't want to live any other way. They do this by a way of ¨sleep teaching¨ which is when they say phrases into babies´ heads while they are sleeping, over and over until they fully believe what they are hearing. This is so they are always content with their everyday lives, resulting in the ¨Stability¨ part of the motto. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon are the five classes of people in the ¨Community.¨ Of the five, only Alphas and Gammas can even think for themselves so the ideal of ¨Identity¨
Imaging living in your own personal dreamworld that is only unique to you. A place where your imperfections can be somebodys perfections in the eyes of the right beholder a world that is created purely from perfection. This world is called Utopia which is idolized by many dreamers because each individual has the ability to create their own perfect fantasy world that is only unique to themselves. Bending and twisting the world to your liking has its perks like having the world's best economy or healthcare system utopia is the most desired place everyone fantasize to live in.
