Have you ever wondered why Texans fought in the Civil War? The Civil War was fought when the Texans seceded from the U.S and joined the Confederate states. So the real question is, why did the Texans fight in the Civil War? They fought in the war to protect/preserve slavery, the love for Texas, and to protect states rights. First, they wanted to protect and preserve slavery.
