Everything had went wrong when three black men open fire in front of authority. This had cause to lead some victims dead, injured, and kidnapped.
Our Tired, Our Poor, Our Kids :Summary In “Our Tired, Our Poor, Our kids”(2001), Anna Quindlen claims that “There are many homeless mothers and children”(332).Quindlen addresses this issue by needing to find homes for many children the past month (“thousands”) ,as well for those families that wait by their belongings until found a room to sleep. The population of homelessness people isn’t decreasing it’s increasing rapidly. She reveals these problems in order to inform people the outrages numbers of homeless families ,and also “explains some of the effects of homelessness on children,emphasizes the importance of affordable housing,and touches on the effects of welfare reform on homelessness”(329).
In Atticus' closing speech and “life isn't fair- deal with it” by Mike Myatt both share the idea of fairness and what is right. Atticus describes this as the first form of rhetoric ethos, as does MIke Myatt in his argument about what is fair and what is not. Atticus' speech was a form of ethos meaning it appeals to an audience or a reader's ethics, this is shown in speech stating “I am confident that you gentlemen will review without passion the evidence you have heard, come to a decision, and restore the defendant to his family.” This quote near the end of the speech describes how Atticus reviews the evidence in the trial and points out that all men should be treated equally but are not.
What is the right thing to do? Ellie Wiesel believes people should do the right thing, but more importantly these should choose a side. Indifference is worse than anger, rage, and hatred as Ellie said, “Anger can at times be creative. One writes a great poem, a great symphony, have done something special for the sake of humanity because one is angry at the injustice that one witnesses”(Elie Wiesel, The Perils of Indifference). With indifference people are only punishing the victim and helping to achieve the goal of the unrighteous.
Barbara Kingsolver is about how the society creates violence by exposing children to threatening events were the good guy will always win. In most movies, children watch a villain and a superhero who are fighting until one kills the other one with a weapon. She is explaining we could change the aspects that children have about protecting themselves by watching how they interact with others. If they act in the way of threatening, we would need to see why the child feels he/she feels unprotected whether it's from the parents or how society treats the kid has an outsider. Kingsolver point of writing the article about Columbine is to open our eyes to see how we treat others in different ways because someone may dress, act, look, etc differently than the rest of the community.
In March of 1925, Margaret Sanger delivered the outcome of overpopulation and a lack of birth control options(“Margaret Sanger’s “The Children’s Era” Analysis”). She discussed the so-called “Children’s Era”, which desired countless happy and healthy children all around the world, as a key part missing from our ideal future. Children brought up in poor circumstances are nearly doomed to have a bright future; these babies are jinxed before leaving the womb. Therefore, a child can only be healthy and successful if it is raised in a similar environment. In order to prevent the babies who are ill-prepared for or unexpected, birth control is necessary.
Watching tv to much is bad ,just by telling them a white lie to make them believe something that is not true. This way your child thinks something and they won’t watch the tv as often. It helps you as well , because you know they won’t watch tv as much and they would be doing something different. The reason I don’t like certain types of lies is when it hurts someone else in a way.
The Overuse of Television Kameron G Loyd BYU-Idaho During an average week, how much television does the average child watch? Parents, educators, and concerned citizens alike would be appalled at the answer of 1,480 minutes (BLS American Time Use Survey, A.C. Nielsen Co.). They would also be revolted by the statistic that 54% of four to six year olds would rather spend time watching television instead of spending time with their fathers (BLS American Time Use Survey, A.C. Nielsen Co.). In 1984, Neil Postman saw how devastating television watching was becoming to the culture of America, and gave a speech to the literary community at the 1984 Frankfort Germany Book Fair entitled “Amusing Ourselves to Death” which deals directly with this monolithic issue. Although the speech and subsequent article, published in Et Cetra, were directed at the publishers, writers, illustrators, etc., all those who read this article can also benefit from Postman’s overarching desire to decrease the hours of mind-numbing television watching.
In "Teenage Wasteland", Donna Gaines has done research that examined specific details of the lives and deaths of the four teens in Bergenfield, New Jersey. She studied suicides by spending time with the teens in the community in order to understand their problems. Donna Gaines establishes a social question concerning about how the “burnouts” have been influenced by the social factors. Social factors, including their personal relationships with others, economic situations- no opportunity for advancement, lack of legitimate hang-out space, drugs, alienation from school and parents, high expectations from parents, and negative judgments influenced the situation in which teens wanted to be isolated and thought suicide was their answer.

You sit in your home and visit with no one.” Staring into the television screen, zoned out and mesmerized, our minds are living the life of the characters in the movie or TV show. In today’s society, people obsess over there shows instead of there family, friends, and children.
Perseverance means to me to keep on trying to do something despite the difficulty of how hard it is. And to stay spiritually strong and to never give up at anytime until you have reached your goal or your expectations. The 5 stages of grief are Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. I think everyone goes through at least 1 of the 5 stages of grief, because everyone has trials that they go through in their life.
The essay, “What I’ve Learned from Men”, by Barbara Ehrenreich is an impressive piece of writing focusing on a significant theme which is still present and is witnessed to this day. The theme that the author discusses is the on-going gender issues shedding light on the differences between men and women. Throughout the essay, Ehrenreich argues about the one thing women need to learn from men: how to be tough. She support this argument by providing a personal experience, taking her back to the time when she didn’t acknowledge the quality of being tough and falling victim to sexual harassment. She then explains this act as “behaving like a lady” and continues to support her claim by stating facts describing how women tend to act nice or “as a lady” by being the ones responsible to keep the conversation with a man going and constantly smiling even when unneeded and even when expressing anger and displeasure.

Each day technology is developing and its becoming a big part of our society and our foreseeable future. A study shows that only 0.4% of the world population used internet in 1995, meanwhile 50.1% of world’s population used internet in 2016 (Internet Growth Statistics). People should be aware of the side effects of media, because teenagers get influenced by the things they watch and this could change the way they behave to certain things.
