During the Civil War there were many differences besides slavery. This war had the most American deaths than all of the wars the U.S. has been in combined! The south seceded from the north for slavery and other less important reasons. The Civil War on the other hand, was a period in American history that was marked by great inflation, on both sides of the conflict. Both the Union and Confederacy were faced with the urgent need to generate large quantities of funds to pay for the exorbitant costs involved in prosecuting the ongoing war. Both governments then resorted to the same tactic in order to acquire the funds they so desperately needed to continue to fund their respective militaries. They simply printed more money as they needed in order to pay their outstanding debts. The difference, however, was that the Union’s currency was backed by a gold and silver standard.
Civil War soldiers fought for something more than just manhood, duty, government, and their country. They fought for and against slavery, which for most soldiers was their primary motivation beyond defending their home. Slavery for many was more than just an institution, it was the fabric of their economic society that provided the wealth and opportunity to the South. Without slavery the South could not operate and prosper which made it impossible for the notion of emancipation. However, those in the North did not immediately rely on the institution of slavery in such dire manner.
From 1861 to 1865, America experienced the tragedy of a division of her own people, North and South, whose hostilities toward one another exploded into a war which left the South devastated with defeat, and the North victorious, but uncertain of what that victory meant. It was to be expected that the armies on both sides would suffer hardships, but the southern civilians could not have been prepared for the lesson in privation which the war entailed. From the beginning of the war, the South was faced with the superior strength of the North. The northern states could boast of 22,000,000 people while the states of the new Confederacy contained roughly 9,000,000 inhabitants with Negro slaves constituting about 3,500,000 of this sparse population.
As you know being in an army could be quite difficult for soldiers. Both Union soldiers and Confederate soldiers train everyday and do certain duties to get ready for the American Civil War. However, there are huge differences between the two armies. Before the war started, most of the soldiers from both North and South had been farmers. If the Southerners did not farm they either became carpenters, mechanics, merchants, machinist, lawyers, teachers, blacksmiths, or a dentist.
The Civil War was a very bloody time. About 620,000 people died, whether thats disease, starvation, or combat. The Union and Confederacy both had to go through tough times to fight for what they want. Both sides in the Civil War had advantages that made only one that was more prepared. The Union was most likely prepared due to better areas during the war.
The Union was victorious in the American Civil War, this had altered the course of history for Americans in the residing in the North and South. The Reconstruction era had lasting effects throughout the two regions as it attempted to discuss the inequities of slavery in the South but also reunited the seceded states. Within the historical timeline, between 1865 through 1898, the differences in political, social, and economic legacies of the North and South is apparent. However, similarities are observed in the migration of oppressed groups during the development of the West. This was possible because of railroad expansion in the North and after the war, the railroad was rapidly expanding in the South and westbound.

On November 19, 1863 President Lincoln at the dedication of the Cemetery at Gettysburg delivered speech of the Gettysburg Address that told of the ripples that tore through the Civil War like a hurricane. Nonetheless the Civil War did not just happen all of once it was a conflict that built up over time between two rival groups of states the North and South. It was the differences between the North and South that led to the Civil War and all of the destruction that followed. Economics and political differences between the North and South were big riffs that separated the Union, but the inconsistency that was the foundation for all these problems were different views of slavery between the two.
To us, the Northerners, the Civil War was a great event that banned slavery in the South. Slavery was wrong in every way in the United States because everyone was made equally and shall be treated equally. On the Constitution, it states that “all men are created equal”, the word “men” should include all white men and all black men. Freed slaves should not be captured again and used them for labor work. Freed slaves should have freedom everywhere throughout America.
The South had another organization, no maritime compel, and no railroads. The North, in any case, had a central government, more banks, a maritime constrain with warriors, and moreover had railroads. South was better with weapons, knew the land, and besides had Robert E. Lee as their purposes of intrigue. Of course, North's burdens were that they were not arranged as well, did not want to fight, and they had political officers. The Civil War was the bloodiest war in America to date, the war claimed thousands of lives, and left many families without members. The North and South fought for many reasons, but the most notable was slavery. Farming was one of the many reasons the South was for keeping slaves, with lush soil, lots of farmland, a great climate, interesting physical factors such as small hills here and there, communication potential, political and cultural significance, and much more, made it obvious why the South wanted to keep their slaves. A factor that affected the Civil War tremendously was population. The North had a plethora of people fighting for the Union, while the South, who had a diminished amount of residents, fought for the Confederates.
The Civil War had also been fought over what should the states that should be able to own slaves or not to own slaves that were in slavery. In which it had also been in the time that was when Abraham Lincoln had been trying to create the Reconstruction. The Reconstruction also had made to be redressed in the inequities of slavery, which had made the eleven southern states wanting to secede from the Union. At the Union level it had hoped to be creating new laws and new constitutional amendments that would be altering the federal system and the American citizenship. Which had made the Republicans being able to convince that of former slaves should be earned the equal rights that had been required in the south readmission to the Union.

These wars in many ways were separate but equal and is very easy to compare and contrast them.
