The reason he provided for the Germans loss of WW1 was because of the Jews of Germany, specifically the bankers. When he came to power he organized one of the largest mass murdering schemes in history, that being the Holocaust. In states in his book Mein Kampf, “Rational anti-Semitism, however, must lead to systematic legal opposition.…Its final objective must unswervingly be the removal of the Jews altogether.”. Hitler further emphasized his anti-Semitic feelings by passing the Nuremberg Laws. Encyclopedia Britannica describes this law as, “the Law for the Protection of German Blood and German Honour and the Law of the Reich Citizen—became the centerpiece of anti-Jewish legislation and a precedent for defining and categorizing Jews in all German-controlled lands.” The law also set strict regulations on marriage and business.
Anti–Semitism is hostility or prejudice against Jews as a religious or ethnic group (Allswang, 1985). This racism was the cause of the shocking discriminations against the Jewish people. This is a discrimination is form which can be traced by the early years of Christianity (F. Jackson and K. Lake, Beginning of Christianity, 5 vols. 1920-33). During this time, an infamous Adolf Hitler rose to power, promising a new and prosperous Germany and accused the Jewish population for causing Germany’s problems. Hitler and the Nazis proceeded to take measures to strip Jews of their rights to create a Germany free from "racially inferior" people. The German citizens began to agree with Hitler’s idea of exterminating the Jewish population in Germany. The United States of America doesn’t exactly have a clean slate. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the US Government panicked about Japanese spies. President Roosevelt signed the Executive Order 9066 on February 19, 1942. This order stated that any Japanese-American would be relocated to an internment camp.
The Holocaust meant the mass murder of over 6 million Jews, either delivered by toxic gas or firing squads. Although brutal, this was an efficient and effective way of exterminating the Jews so that the Germans could focus on the war. Due to this, extermination camps came along, as there was no longer lebensraum (living space), food or simply resources to supply the Jews with. The Final Solution was here, albeit altered because of the war. The original plan was to deport the Jews, not to murder them in mass.
The Nazis believed in anti-semitism and spread it throughout Germany to convince the non-jewish Germans that anti-semitism was okay. The Nazi Party spread that belief as well as their other beliefs and ideas using propaganda which was a powerful tool that was used during World War Two. Genocide, a mass killing of people, is what happened next when the Nazis start rounding up the Jews and putting them into ghettos and concentration camps. An example of connotation in this article is in paragraph one, where the sentence states, “These racist Nazi laws were among the first of many that led to the Holocaust, the mass killing, and imprisonment of Jews in Europe during World War II.” This is an example of the author using the connotation to impact the reader in a negative way. The author uses words such as racist, mass killing, and imprisonment to influence the reader negatively. The words have an impactful meaning, which the author did on purpose to make the readers pitiful towards the Jews, and the author chose these specific words in order to give an idea of how horrific the Holocaust was.
The Primary parallel between the Gypsies and the Jews was that they were both mass murdered in gas chambers, shot at, and lived in very inhuman conditions compared to other groups persecuted by the Nazis. “The uniqueness of the Jewish experience can best be documented by comparing it with the Nazi treatment of other persecuted populations. The Nazi’s sought to legitimize their power and called themselves the German Reich, taking inspiration from the past (World War II in Europe). Hitler entered office with the goal of genocide to achieve racial purity. He wanted to exterminate all races, especially Jews, that he considered unworthy. He believed in the master race, considering Aryan’s to be superior to all (Rossel 12). He invaded and occupied countries, wiping out their Jewish populations and leaving them in ruins.
“By the end of 1938, the regime was receiving requests from the families of newborn or very young children with severe deformities and brain damage for the grant of a “mercy killing”(“Introduction to Nazi Euthanasia”). Why were parents asking the Nazis to kill their own children? As a result, disabled Germans were subjected to starvation, sterilization, and ultimately mass murder based on the Nazi 's propaganda campaign and their belief that these individuals were inferior. The Nazi’s main goal of the Holocaust was to create a master race. In school curriculums and propaganda, they promoted the idea that the disabled German’s diseases were dangerous to future generations and therefore needed to be sterilized and murdered in order to create a master race (Bareth, Karl and Alfred Vogel).
