Have you ever witnessed natural phenomenon? A sinkhole, maybe a termite infestation, rain even? If you have, you know you can’t stop any of this from happening. The main character Paul in the book Tangerine, by Edward bloor, has things going on in his life that he can’t control. I think that in the novel, Bloor uses natural phenomenon to represent the problems in Paul’s life and his memories.

One example is at the end of Lucas’s dream, he feels “icy hands” push him so deep into a pool where he could no longer see anything from the surface and had no air, making his lungs want to “explode” (Wagamese 29). Vagrants camp is a vineyard primarily planted with Chenin blanc grape variation. Chenin blanc is a type of grape which is used to (i) produce white wine or (ii) blend with Sauvignon bland or Chardonnay to create a fresh zesty dry wine. The article I read was called, “Why Are Honeycrisp Apples So Damn Expensive?” by Elizabeth Gunnison Dunn. In this article, Ms. Dunn starts out by talking about how she comes from a long line of apple growers, but being shocked at the price of the Honeycrisp apple. She goes on to talk about how it came into existence and why people love this particular apple so much.

While dysfunction is present on the Grape family, numerous strengths exist. The Grape children provoke a resiliency to rally together and support each other in times of unrest. The children have assumed complete control of care for Bonnie & Arnie, as by doing so they preserve love and hope within the family dynamic. In the magazine article “Forgotten Fruits”, the author, Rowan Jacobsen wrote about the Common Ground Country Fair and John Bunker who brings various apples back to America that made American great. Bunker put different types of apples on display. Then the author introduced information about the apple’s history and also shared about plant apples. The author starts to tell about John Bunker’s story with apples.
In Shepard and Metzler’s experiment the visual stimuli used were assemblages of cubes. Whereas this experiment uses black figures. The difference in visual stimuli may have affected the participant’s processing of the figure. The cubes could be potentially easier to mentally rotate one figure to see whether it could be mapped onto the other, since the cubes could be counted. Top-down processing is also influenced by our experience and is a faster way of recognizing objects compared to bottom-up processing. Another unique characteristic of facial recognition is that it is processed holistically. This was proven by the fact that when a face is inverted it negatively affects our ability to effectively recognize the face (p.122). For us to be able to recognize a face we must be able to see it in its original and whole pattern, which would be an upright position.
For example, in what appear to be water flowers, a lemon chiffon is placed behind a harvest gold and then an amber/honey-yellow to create the illusion of depth within the object. These harmonious yellows come in stark contrast with the greens nestled below them. Additionally, spatial cues aid in the development of depth and dimension within the painting. Many immigrants are stuck in two different cultures; their original culture and the new culture that they adopt in a new place. However, some immigrants only have a chance to adopt a new culture. Some immigrant family’s children were born in a country other than their native country. In Fruit of the Lemon, Faith is a person who lived her whole life without her native culture which was hard for her to understand her fellows race.
