rainsoford has to go through many struggles and has to be the huntee instead of the hunter. Thoreau states, “I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary.” Thoreau is contrasting his purpose with his resignation. He compares his life with a life he doesn't want. The similes in paragraph two are paired up with each of Thoreau ideas. By pairing them he is able to catch the reader's attention. By having similes to compare his ideas, the readers are able to understand what Thoreau point of view is on life.
Into The Wild was a tremendous story which Shaun Callarman did not have many positive things to say about Chris McCandless, the main character. He went on this adventure to find out what life is all about in his own eyes. He wanted to see how different living in the wild really was compared to society because he was not satisfied with his living arrangements and household. Shaun’s quote says that he thinks “Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no common sense, and he had no business going into Alaska with his Romantic silliness.
These two foil ideas make up the entirety of this story. Chris believes society is bad and nature is good. As readers, we cannot judge Chris’ opinions entirely, but we can form our own opinions. Society is not as corrupt as Chris believed, and nature is not as beautiful if you have no point in being there. This story is about a journey of Chris McCandless, the man who left society for isolation.
Nature is shown in this manner, because it causes one to be completely isolated as they will be able to find their ultimate freedom with themselves. One can find their true identity and realize that materials do not make them the person they are, it is the experiences they encounter. McCandless’s journey into the wilderness shows that he was ready to change the way he was living and his surroundings. Changing his lifestyle, and going by another name, shows that he was rejecting the values forced upon him by his parents’, and that he wants to start creating values for himself. Nature played a huge part in allowing McCandless to reach his ultimate freedom by serving as a character itself.
McCandless Life Into the Wild’ is about a young man who rejects his conventional life to live in the wild ,Shaun Callarman states “I think that Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time, He had no common sense .He abandoned his family to go on an adventure to find himself happiness. He was dissatisfied with his life,he eschewed ambition and materialism in favor of living as close to nature and as far moved from society as he possibly could. He was alienated from his parents who could never understand him.Chris McCandless sought a more fulfilling existence in Alaska(Callarman,2016). Chris Mccandless chose a solitary life to get away from his parents, they never understood what he wanted. He chose to give all of his money away to charity,he rid himself of everything that he had to set out on a worthless journey and die's later on.Do you think it was smart for him to do that? However that young man definitely had luck on his side, in the end he was bested by mother nature. I personally think Chris was in over his head with his actions, that’s why he died, if he would have had more self-control and outdoor experience he would have survived. Almost any nature survivalist will know that before eating a plant, to make sure to check for all
Typically when one person stops doing their job, another person is unable to do theirs, and then another and another, until the whole community is unable to function. As Enkidu joined civilization, he sacrificed his self-reliance, meaning his sense of reliability on the community is more of a dependability. Which is a risk because he is now depending on a community he has just joined. He is already weaker than he was before and has gotten used to things being done for him, so it is improbable that he would be able to live on his own. So if people stopped doing their part in the community Enkidu would either have to learn to survive on his own again, find a new community, or die.
Ivan is weak and uncertain of what he wants out of his life, so giving up seems to be the best option for him. Once he realizes that he isn't getting better he gives up on life and liberty. However, he does seem to find happiness in spending time with Gerasim and remembering his childhood. The hand dealt in life isn't always easy, enjoyable, or beautiful. Situations can be permanent or temporary, but the way you handle them makes all the difference.
He did a great job on only wanting to provide for his family and to continue living as the day goes by. If he would have to ask for revenge things would have gone way more out of control and perhaps maybe Fidel would have not been alive nor his family. An example is someone was a victim in a shooting he survived, but he did not want it to end there, so he asks for revenge. The victim and his brother went out for the suspects they found them, but they did not make it alive. So this is why Fidel enthusiasm and decision and leaving it there not wanting to do anything with the criminals was a great choice.
While playing with the fire he didn’t think he can get burned by it. Even when his ambitions were too unrealistic to achieve, he continued to follow them, relying oh his belief of his own exceptionality. Maybe if he would have been less self-centered and a little more humble to let other people help him to prepare better for his journey, he could still be alive, but unfortunately instead of thinking rationally he let his arrogance cloud his judgments and in April 1992 he walked into the Alaskan forest not prepared for what was waiting ahead of
