Abstract— In the world different control algorithms for the regulation of irrigation canals have been developed and applied. Each of them is been differentiated by control systems. In this paper the canal automation system is done by using Crouzet PLC. An automated canal operation is done through the programming & PLC. Millanium-3 Crouzet PLC is used to control canal operation. FBD programming is done for the canal control system. Canal automation is becoming widely used to improve the operation of canal systems and to conserve water. The water can be provided to the farmer for particular amount of time. Based on my observations I hypothesized that both Herbert Run and the Commons stream would have a high level of nitrate, conductivity, and turbidity. I hypothesized this because of traffic, liter, and the waste and pollution in both streams. For the Commons Stream, the Conductivity was 1086µS/cm. The turbidity was 0 FAU. Last, the Nitrate level for Commons was 0.08 ppm.

With the creation of systems such as steamboats and the Eire Canal, urban systems expanding appearing all over areas such as the Mississippi River. The Eire Canal allowed the Atlantic Ocean to be connected directly to the Great Lakes through New York and Albany, which in turn allowed them to be connected to the Mississippi. The Mississippi and the Great Lakes were already existing natural landscapes, but the creation of the new transportation system of the Eire Canal imposed a new geography to them, allowing them to become a central backbone to the American Transportation system. Transportation choices, such as the Eire Canal, allow the American transportation system to avoid constraints provided by natural landscapes, and fully take advantage of their opportunities. One example of this was the steamboat sublime, which removed the constraints on the Mississippi River that limited the movement of vessels to be only able to travel downstream.

The Erie Canal played an enormous part in the economic growth in the United States. The Canal helped to cause an increase in industry along the Hudson River. Now, commercial vessels could travel all the way from the Hudson River to Lake Erie (Doc. 1A). This meant that they could bring goods to the people that couldn’t normally get them, because they were too expensive, or they had no way to get to them. Thousands of settlers began to utilize the Erie Canal to move west (OI).
In order to build the Panama Canal, the United States went through quite a few difficulties. Political, engineering, and even medical. One of the biggest problems would have been the mosquitoes. The mosquitoes were causing diseases such as yellow fever and malaria.
The reclamation of the San Joaquin River has improved the surrounding ecosystem drastically. With the river return came improvement in the aspects that were questioned before the restoration. Restoring the San Joaquin has revitalized the community, resurrected the salmon population, and catalyzed a change in California water management. The doubts of the people were settled by proving that the river renewal not only brought back salmon population, but rehabilitated the neighboring areas. Reconstruction of the San Joaquin river has been estimated to generate 11,000 new local jobs in the San Joaquin Valley this will help expand and strengthen the region’s economy.
Places that have sparse or seasonal rainfall could not sustain agriculture without irrigation. In areas that have irregular precipitation, irrigation improves crop growth and quality. By allowing farmers to grow crops on a consistent schedule, irrigation also creates more reliable food supplies. In document 3 it says "These irrigation systems was the first of their kind and allowed Mesopotamia to grow a surplus of wheat and other crops." this shows why irrigation systems are important and how they impacted the world.

With regards to the predator of fresh water shortage in global scale, Canada also unfortunately falls to its prey. Blessed with abundant fresh water in lakes, streams, rivers and most importantly –the underground water, Canada has long taken it for granted that fresh water supply will never be their concern. However, the approaching of fresh water shortage has only until recently woken Canadians from their dreams. When Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development implemented underground water tapping programs and the Munk School of Global Affairs held a symposium themed on mapping underground water, federal and public concerns are fomenting.
