The Bill of Rights is a collective of 10 very important rights that Americans are entitled to. However, when it comes to ranking their importance, the first amendment wins first place. That is our right to free speech, religion, petition, peaceful assembly, and press. This is the right that puts in the hands of the people the right to make change. Our nation 's first amendment grants citizens the freedom to speak and spread their ideas. For example, one cannot be thrown in a cell for sharing negative ideas about the government and/or its leader(s). In many cases, putting such notions out into the world can be a very positive action.
