The Bill of Rights was passed by congress on September 25, 1789 and was ratified on December 15 , 1791. James Madison and George Manson contributed to the bill rights. In the website, “Bill of Rights Institute,” the “Bill of Rights of The United States of America (1791)” explains the history of the Bill of Rights. At first 17 amendments were agreed on at the house but only 12 out of those 17 were approved. From there , only 10 were passed after being sent to the rest of the states.The bill of rights was created because of a conflict between the Anti-federalists and federalists.The federalists agree that a bill of rights was required. The purpose of the Bill of Rights was to protect the rights of citizens. It guaranteed them their freedom and to keep the government from becoming too powerful thus giving the congress limitations. In the CNN interviews Alexis Frazier from kamiah Idaho says “Firearms are a way of life “ she grew up around guns and hunters. To her firearms are also a sport and used hunting. From her earlier knowledge she knows “they are virtual tools for survival and have a special culture attached to their use” guns are not only used or owned by people for protection but also for hunting or because they enjoy the sport. All people who were interviewed said it 's extremely important to know how to operate a gun safely or stated that they know how to operate it safely. After doing research on the Second Amendment I am still leaning towards both sides of this yes i do believe it’s a good idea to have a gun for your own protection and then i am aware of the risks of people obtaining weapons. Now a days you don 't know what to expect and if you will ever encounter a situation where a gun would be needed. Police officers can’t be everywhere at all times many lives could be saved if people had protection in their
