The multi-billionaire, businessman, and tv personality Donald Trump is one of the most popular individuals mentioned in politics today. Mr. Trump's most controversial and talked about policy is immigration. Immigration has always been a topic in politics. Whether on purpose or not, Trump has made the topic of immigration into a heated discussion. He has many ideas in order to put his immigration plans into effect. In order to be put into effect he has developed three core principles on immigration. His main concern from immigration is the illegal immigrants crossing over the border, from Mexico to the U.S. Donald Trump’s core principles on immigration are very specific. First he claims that a wall must be built on the border between Mexico and U.S. The wall that he wants to build is would cost lots of money. Trump states that if he became president of the United States he would make Mexico pay for it (Trump Immigration Reform). He says that not enough is done by the border patrol to stop immigrants from entering. …show more content…
“America will only be great as long as America remains a nation of laws that lives according to the Constitution” (Trump Immigration Reform). He would like to add laws and replace some that are in effect. For example, when police arrest an illegal immigrant they must release them. Trump has stated that he would like to detain them instead of “letting them off the hook”. The list of laws he would like to put in place vary. They include ending birthright citizenship to adding more Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Show MorePresident Donald Trump’s speech to Congress started with him addressing how America hasn’t put its own citizens first and as a result of this our middle class has shrunk. That jobs and wealth has been given to foreign countries and our borders have been left wide open for anyone to cross and bring in drugs. Trump said that dying industries will come to life, veterans and the military will get the care they need, new roads, bridges, tunnels, airports and railways would be made, and the drug epidemic will stop when America puts its own citizens first. He said that he is no longer going to let America and its workers be taken advantage of. Trump said that he will stop the drugs from entering our country and expand treatment for those who have
Trump Roast Session @realDonaldTrump Rhetorical Situation: During the past year Trump has been pushing many individuals buttons on the race to the Whitehouse. One of his main platform issues was that he wants a new wall, and he wants the wall to be paid for by the Mexican people. I find so many issues with this statement, because I think he would actually be a good president. He has ran billion dollar companies and has friends in high places, he may be able to bring America out of the debt that we are lingering in at this present moment.
He has done this through passionate speeches that appeal to the anger and the desire of Americans to “make America great again". Like Sanders, Trump has also brought new ideas to the 2016 election. Trump has argued that too many free trade agreements are forcing American manufacturing companies to move abroad. He also talks of the massive trade deficits the United States has with Mexico and China. Trumps biggest policy change from GOP norms is his plan of building a wall across the southern border of the United States to further reduce illegal immigrations.
Trump plans to take out DACA which is a program that million of youth Immigrants use. Many dreamers rely on DACA since it provides them permit for work and protection from deportation. Trump wants to reduce the number of Immigrants in the U.S He pledged to cancel DACA during his presidential campaign. In the article “Homeland Security” by Alan Gomez, He states that about 750,000 Illegal Immigrants receive DACA which leads to a attainable education.
Trump has not released any specific plans for funding or building the wall. But he wants to building the
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States.” Donald Trump announcement for president was surprising, but not as much as the fact that he is at the top of the polls. Mr. Trump has shown focus on current problems that concern Americans. He elucidates the economic recession America is now suffering by presenting his official tax plan, in case he wins the 2016 elections. His main target?
Trump also addressed trade. The first trade agreement he promised to replace in his campaigns was the NAFTA trade deal. He again acknowledged the opposition when he stated this in his union address, “Many politicians came and went, pledging to change or replace NAFTA, only to do so, and then absolutely nothing happened.” However, unlike past administrations Trump takes this opportunity to share that he was able to replace NAFTA and sign a new fair-trade deal. Through various themes, Trump continues to rely on ethos to build trust with his audience, which he then expands on with the use of
Trump’s policies themselves were favorable towards white nationalism. NBC outlines Trump’s major policies to see the focus on preventing illegal immigration, tax reform, lessening regulations, and the like. Most if not all of these policies promote a sense of otherness. For instance, Trump advocated for the building of his wall by referring to illegal immigrants as “criminals.” In Trumps’ words, the wall was absolutely necessary to stop the “crime and killing machine” that is illegal immigration.
On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump stepped on stage in Trump Tower in New York City and formally announced his plans to run for president. One of the largest focuses of his announcement speech centered on immigration, more specifically Mexican immigration. He made comments stating that Mexico is currently sending only sending the worst of its population such as rapist and drug dealers into the United States (Ye Hee Lee 2015). Trump is a recent example how the popular media influences the racial prejudice towards immigrants, however, this is not a recent development. Some of the first anti-immigrant sentiment is only a couple of centuries old.
He wants to build a great wall to block out all immigrants. Recently he said “Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life (Donald Trump).” He is causing a lot of stir in the political
Now President-Elect, Donald Trump, wishes to send illegal immigrants back to their home country. This has created controversy between the candidates in the election as well as the citizens of the United States. A diverse population believes that we should not grant illegal immigrants amnesty because they have broken our immigration laws. Allowing illegal immigrants citizenship is not the rule of American, legal immigration is. However, others believe that it is “inhumane” and “unrealistic” to deport over 11 million immigrants back to the native country when they have families and lives here in the United States.
President Trump wants to keep immigrants out by building a wall. Also President Trump has banned travel from or to certain areas in the country. So how would this affect one of America’s motto “The Land of Opportunity”? We need to start to think of different options to figure out what exactly what we are going to do to with the immigration problems. With a new president, people are debating over the illegal immigrants.
Deportation “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.” (Trump). I agree with the part that some of the criminals shall be deported.
Those who live among poverty and violence look to America and see a wonderful country filled with opportunity. However, in recent months, America has become a laughingstock, a joke. Donald Trump, as well as many conservative Republicans would like to would like to build a wall separating America from Mexico, limit a woman’s choices, and deny current citizens basic psychological and physical assistance. We should work towards building human connections, not walls. Our future president will have the power to implement an immigration policy and make decisions that will effect the immigrants who currently reside within our borders.
Illegal immigrants evidently have had the ability to leach off of the American government, due to Obamacare. Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most attention needing problems the United States faces. The adversity devised from the jobs that illegal immigrants have apprehended from US citizens is formidable. President Trump has promised that he will reform the immigration laws and following his presidential campaign promise, building a large wall that separates Mexico and The United States. Building the wall reassures the population that we are indeed safe, we are a powerful country and there is no free ride in the land of hope and possibility.
