In the Christmas Carol, Ebeneezer Scrooge had always hated Christmas. He was never happy, he would always argue about something. Until one night that changed everything including his emotions, feelings, and life. He became a very sweet old man. Scrooge is officially an old man that loves Christmas.
In the beginning of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge had a terrible fate if he didn’t decide to change his ways. In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens wants us to understand that mankind’s business is caring and helping others because it is the nice thing to do as shown through Scrooge’s changing view of family and caring. Scrooge doesn’t believe this in the beginning of the book, he believes that making money is the true meaning of business. In Stave One, Scrooge thinks business is money and it makes him mean and greedy.
In Charles Dickens's famous novel, A. Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge is visited be three spirits, to show him his life then, now, and later. At the end of the story, he is visited from the ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, and the ghost has took Ebenezer into the future to a view of his own gravestone. When Ebenezer has gotten to his gravestone he says, "Men's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead. But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me."
In the play, “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge was very rude throughout ¾ of the story. Towards the end he brightened up for once and was very nice surprisingly. Everyone saw him as an ungrateful and grumpy man who had no Christmas spirit whatsoever. Everyone else was up to the spirit and so excited and he always was rude and miserable and made it roll off of some others.
Looking from the start of "A Christmas Carol", which I will call from now on "the book", Scrooge is described in the worst way a human could be described. Dickens' fantastic descriptions drew an image of a sharp, misanthropic, covetous old miser. His greed for wealth and his superb selfishness made him stand out like a goose in a queue of ducks compared to the charity men's benevolence and his comely nephew's good heart. as "the book" describes, Scrooge is a "tightfisted hand at the grindstone...hard and sharp as flint, solitary as an oyster. "(page 12), highlighting his selfishness and hostility.

When a caroler comes to his door as a good deed for so much as a penny, Scrooge whacks a ruler in his face. Scrooge even behaves negatively toward his own family, even during the Christmas season. “Scrooge said that he would see him-Yes, indeed, he did…and said that he would see him in that extremity first” (Dickens 36). When asked to join a family dinner, Scrooge replies by telling his nephew to go to Hell. Dickens developed the negative impression of Scrooge through his behavior.
Scrooge was the character that was always grumpy. He looked like a mean, miserable old man That hates the world. Scrooge was also a man who hated any happiness. He doesn't like Christmas until Three Ghosts shows him what he has done wrong.

We come to learn that Scrooge changes with his attitude. One quote from the text that accurately confirms this is…“No warmth could warm, no wintry weather could chill him. ”(page 3). This excerpt from the text explains how troubled and insecure he is inside, using a metaphorical perspective. We, as the readers, can draw inferences and conclusions on how loathsome he seems.

At the beginning of the story, Scrooge’s selfish personality is revealed, and the Ghost of Christmas Past comes and shows him the memories and truth of his life long ago.
Scrooge in "The Christmas Carol" shows how much he hates Christmas, and everyone he works with to change to a happy person with the help of others. Scrooge emphasizes, "What a fine day fellow... An Intelligent boy, a remarkable boy. " This is a critical part of this novel because this shows Scrooge overcame his dislike of Christmas and his entire disliking of people. Instead of rudely gesturing to people, he is now starting to act nicer, and more mature.
