This quotation fits perfectly with my component of success. The quotation shows, in order to become successful one must take the opportunities given and work really hard at them to become successful. Gladwell makes sure readers know these successful role models didn’t make it to where they are one their own. Some people get more opportunities than others, likely because they have astounding effort. You need to have enough talent and drive to get the opportunities, then you have to seize
Luck can be your side if you worked hard for it. Hard work determine your level it can make you into a professional person. In Outliers: "The story of Success", a non-fiction story written by Malcom Gladwell's. It explain that "the people at the very top don't work just harder or even harder than everyone else. They work much, much harder."
Ambition is the desire to achieve a goal through determination and hard work. Undoubtedly, the secret of America’s idea of success corresponds with ambition and the lack thereof when measuring reward. Although every man may not have the same definition of success, throughout the continuing lifespan of America, success has revolved around accomplishing one 's goals. Historically, America has become one of the most successful nations in the world, and throughout history. While its ambitions prod it toward achievement, this also condemns it to failure.
This creates a meaningful and realistic plan for greater time management and something to aim for while undertaking tasks for the greatest efficiency. 2. Delegate tasks - By understanding who are better at particular tasks than yourself, delegating can be implemented as a major time saving technique. Providing them with the resources and support they require, they can get the job completed just as well or even better than you could under time pressures. While delegating tasks, you can focus on more important issues that have a larger consequence of not completing.
Benjamin Franklin a True American Hero Christopher Reeve once said “ A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacle” meaning that a hero is someone who does not give up and perseveres no matter how hard things get. They keep trying and keep going to get to their goal. Many people have shown these qualities whether it was a fireman a teacher a greek goddess or even a postman. These qualities make a great hero because they do things many people would find impossible. Most people would give up when it gets hard but it takes someone heroic to get passed these obstacles and to make the impossible, possible. One of these people being benjamin franklin. He showed this characteristic
Like many Americans, Willy works his whole life trying to be a salesman to be able to provide for his family. Willy unwillingness to change, and over-relying on his charisma to lead him to become prosperous is the one of the primary cause of his downfall. The ideals of success that Willy pushes onto his sons seem preposterous. In Willy’s mind, neither of his two sons were able to live up to the expectation he had for them. From my point of view, I believe he wanted live through his sons and actually, have them fulfill his belief of success.
Taking a stand or winning Taking a stand is what really counts, standing up for others or even for yourself is more important than winning. You can win at anything but standing up, at least you can say you tried even if you do not succeed. Winning is not everything, you get two minutes of fame and success but then you go straight back to how you were. With taking a stand, you try and do your best and help others even if you do not think you will succeed at least you can say you have tried your best. Taking a stand is more important than winning in any situation that anyone can be in.
A college education has higher benefits in the long run for further advanced and higher paying jobs. People think no matter what the education gives them it is not worth the cost. However, a large amount of graduates of college stated it treated them well, taught them more and college was worth their time (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). Obtaining education can be challenging, but it is worth all the labored work with the reward of money
For many people, college is an important key for their future. Some people go to college for the job opportunities and the new windows it can open. Others go just for the education and experience. A good education is beneficial from many different viewpoints; in truth, it is a possibility that one's adult life could be much harder than people care to think. One can have better wealth, is less likely to be unemployed, and a much higher chance of being closer to your family.
This money can then be used to fulfill their desires. In the quest to achieve the goals one should focus on the step by step progress made. The journey will provide satisfaction in achieving the milestones. • Unending desire to win: Many people have this desire that they should always be the best and win in everything that they do. They do not like to be at second place.
Others may argue that he was not a great American leader. Some think that it was just luck or that the government was desperate and had to have a Secretary of State so they just selected Colin Powell. If Colin Powell didn’t make the great choices he did , he would not have earned all the honors he earned. The most famous awards he received were , the Purple Heart for being wounded in service
If a college student can learn to continually better his grades by looking for assistance, putting his assignments and tests before his social life, and being responsible for his work and its outcome, then he has the grit it takes to be more successful. Learning to persevere in challenging times such as college can not only help one get their degree, but it will also assist him in the hardships to come in the real world such as working to make enough money to pay bills or meet deadlines. It is not to say that a student who does not use grit will never be successful, but he will never have as much success as one who uses it day in and day out. In the future, when one is finally in the workforce, he can either think “Wow, I really wish I was still in college because I never had to work this hard before,” or “Wow, I am so glad I learned to work hard in college because it has really paid off for me, and I feel as if I barely work a day in my life.” Which thought will you have when you reach this
It gives me a purpose and pushes me to do things I would’ve never done otherwise. it teaches me how to plan out and initiate an idea to make something wonderful. Working on crew previously had taught me responsibility and pushed me to work harder then I had ever worked before. It is really
The American dream still takes residence in many hearts across the nation, but I believe we are not making full use of the opportunity we have been given. The word success is such a promising word. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel; it appears as a seemingly endless journey that everyone is trying to finish. Many associate the American dream with guaranteed success. What many fail to see is what the American dream really is.
As our knowledge grows so does our expertise and we do too as people. I think one of the biggest things that define how big we really are is our knowledge. Knowing everything about one specific thing will help in that area, but when you begin to learn new things you grow. Learning different things helps you grow because you are now better in different areas instead of just one. This is true when it comes to technicians they know how to diagnose and fix a problem.
