From internal decay to external attacks, the collapse of the Roman Empire was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. The Roman Empire was an empire that started in 625 B.C. and ended in 476 A.D. The Roman Empire had the strongest army and the empire collapsed in many ways. Inflation, Political Corruption, and Barbarian Invasions.

One reason the Roman Empire was decaying from the inside was because of inflation. In the text, Ten Theories On The Fall Of Rome page 2 it says “As the amount of gold used in coins decreased, the coins became less valuable. To make up for this loss in value, merchants raised the prices on goods they sold.” This shows that, because gold coins' value were decreasing, merchants raised their prices and this led to decay
