Besides being a powerful leader, Julius Caesar was also an excellent writer. During his wars in Gaul, Caesar wrote about his adventures, and what Gaul was like. Luckily for us, his literature has been recovered and translated from Latin to English for us to read. Not only did he write about himself, Shakespeare did too. The famous Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays. This play is set post- Pompey, and Caesar is in power. Cassius and Brutus (Caesar’s acquaintances) don't want Caesar to become king, in fear that he might destroy the Roman Empire. As time goes by, Caesar becomes more powerful, and the “Roman citizens” sent letters to Brutus, telling him that they're worried about Caesar’s increasing amount of power. These
