The essay “Night Owl” by Anne Fadiman is a narrative about being a night owl. It begins by Fadiman comparing her sleep patterns to her husband’s. She goes on to describe different aspects of sleep schedules, specifically those of night owls. She writes about scientific studies done on them, famous authors writings about the night, and societal pressures to wake up early and go to bed early.
