Ted Bundy was an American serial killer who committed a string of murders in the 1970s. Born on November 24, 1946, in Burlington, Vermont, he grew up in a middle-class family in Tacoma, Washington, where he was described as a shy and introverted child. Despite his unassuming demeanor, Bundy had a fascination with violence and sex from an early age. Bundy's first known murder was that of Karen Sparks, a college student in Seattle, in January 1974.
