To start living as a catholic one must become baptised through the church. Baptism is the sacrament that takes away original sin, what we inherit from Adam and Eve. Any sins we commit through our own faults are called actual sins. Since these sins are caused by our own action we need a sacrament that will erase this sin. This is where Penance and Reconciliation come to play. (Penance )
After Baptism our relationship with Christ begins to weaken or even become lost through sin. Sin not only ruptures our relationship with God, it destroys our relationship with our brothers and sisters. (Penance )
As Catholics we are called to consider our sins on every level. Sins happen in every aspect in our lives. We see them in our personal lives,

The thought of sin can be scary, especially when it determines ones afterlife. We must not let this idea hold us back. In Exodus it clearly states, “And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” It is said that God is compassionate and merciful. This is a relief because the thought can be very anxious. (Deuteronomy 4:31)
Reconciliation comes from the Latin word, reconciliāre; to make good again, repair. The definition of reconciliation is, the process of making consistent or compatible (Dictionary). This is what we are doing during reconciliation. We are going through a process to clear ourselves. This process makes us more compatible with God and strengthens our relationship.
Penance calls us to examine our hearts. It forces us to recall when we have sinned against our neighbors or even Christ. After we ask for forgiveness the priest forgives us through Christ. When this happens the Grace we lost is now restored through forgiveness (Catechism Commentary). Here the apostle John also says: "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."11 And the Lord himself taught us to pray: "Forgive us our trespasses,"12 linking our forgiveness of one another's offenses to the forgiveness of our sins that

Along with this we also hurt ourselves. With every sin three people are damaged. God, the person you sinned against and yourself. During mass we come together as a community and come to God for forgiveness. We do this in the Penitential Rite. “I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do; and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord, our God.” (Order of Mass)
Concluding this essay, reconciliation is important and helps us build Catholics. Not only as Catholics we grow but also as people. “We are without sin,” we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing (1 Jn 1:8-9).” After forgiveness we grow and that is what is important in our spiritual guide as Catholics and religious
You never have to seek reconciliation. If that were the case, then why does Paul exhort us to that very thing,
“One God, One faith.” Cajetan elaborates on this “one faith” with the argument, “Obviously, my own faith does not entail believing that this man wo is receiving the sacrament is her and now justified or that the body of Christ is in a particular host.” Cajetan claims that it is childish to believe that one’s sins are forgiven without some form of charity involved. Cajetan says, “Charity is this friendship between man and God.” Therefore; it is ridiculous to believe that man is saved through faith in God.
F451 Montag’s Repentance and Renewal “It doesn't matter what you do... so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that's like you after you take your hands away.” Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 In the Christian religion, one of the purposes of communion is renewal and one of the purposes of prayer is repentance. Communion is the act of taking bread and wine to symbolize and remember Christ's body and blood that was shed on the cross for people’s sins.
The “perpetrator” then reflects on their comment and feels guilty for it then transforms their attitude so they aren’t the “bad guy” anymore. I believe that forgiveness allows the perpetrator a chance for inner transformation and “to escape the whirlpool of wrongdoing” (Matthieu Ricard- 236)that they may feel caught
Taking time away from forgiveness can deepen our understanding of the world, giving us perspective on our challenges. Tori Rodriguez, Author of the article "Negative Emotions are Key to Well-Being," says, "Attempting to suppress thoughts can backfire and even diminish our sense of contentment. " Here, author Rodriguez suggests that forgiveness can cause us to hide our negative emotions and only focus on the good instead of letting ourselves truly accept the
Once there has been acceptance then you will easily be forgiven, peoples perspectives of you will change, when John said “My honesty is broke, Elizabeth, I am no good man.” shows he is no longer afraid to speak the truth, no matter how much it shames him. We learn that perspectives change and people change when guilt is admitted, when Elizabeth says “And yet you’ve confessed till now. That speak goodness in you.”. Letting go of guilt can free someone of the weights that carry them down, they must admit to themselves before they admit it to others, when Elizabeth says “It come to naught that I should forgive you, if you’ll not forgive yourself”, we learn that one should not seek forgiveness from others, if they have not forgiven themselves.
Catholic’s confession tradition has been passed down from Jesus to Saint Peter to current priests and bishops. Saint Peter was the first pope and our current pope gains his authority through apostolic succession. Jesus gave the permission to forgive people’s sins to priests and bishops, that doesn’t mean He gave the people the permission to forgive themselves. Here is what Catechism mentions about this: “Since Christ entrusted to his apostles the ministry of reconciliation, bishops who are their successors, and priests, the bishops’ collaborators, continue to exercise this ministry. In deed bishops and priests, by virtue of the sacrament of Holy Orders, have the power to forgive all sins…”
No one is perfect in this beautiful world billions of people call home. People lie, do what’s wrong instead of what is right, and hide things from loved ones. People never want to disappoint the ones that mean the most to them such as family and/or friends. “There can be no redemption without fault, just as one is unable to return from exile without first being sent into one.” Humankind cannot learn or gain without falling down and having to face conflict.
Although suffering for years with a confessed sin may seem harsh, it allows a sin to be redeemed, whereas a concealed sin leads to a life full of endless
OT2100-Week Three-Devotional Leviticus 7:1 Guilt, shame, and remorse are good if it promotes Godly sorrow and the result is genuine repentance. Guilt, shame, and remorse that is of worldly sorrow do not lead one to true repentance. It is bad once Satan holds it over our heads, and we become so weighted down with it that we are hindered from it, and kept from drawing nigh to God to receive His pardon for our sin.
1. I feel that forgiveness is not for the other person, it’s a process that provides you the energy and the self-confidence to move on. One reason why is forgiveness is not for the other is because in my experience, forgiveness is a situation where serious harm has been done to you physically or mentally. The next steps are finding a way to relieve your conscious of the harm caused.
Everyone makes mistakes, commits sins or does some bad deeds. As time goes by, one is unable to live with all the guilt from these sins and mistakes. One regrets it, repents it and does all sorts of things to make it right. Ultimately one only looks for ways to forgive oneself and this requires the atonement of past sins. Atonement in real life refers to the actions of making amends for a wrong or an injury.
The struggle of trying to live up to the expectations of the society justifies the development of guilt and condemnation of the christian
It’s only a fortunate few who are given the chance to atone for their sins. Committed sins create problem between friend, family and others. Forgiveness is not an easy thing to do when things have gone extremely wrong. “To err is human, to forgive divine” (Charu. B) That means committing errors is human, to forgive is divine.
Christianity explains salvation as redemption by God’s grace through faith from unrighteousness and sins to Cleanliness, also known as Salvation. The Bible explores salvation in different perspectives including reconciliation, redemption, ransom, forgiveness, and justification. Even though the Bible is a unitary book, the new and the old testaments present salvation in different aspects. However, the different aspects are complementary. In fact, the Old Testament presents many prophesies about salvation that was fulfilled in the New Testament (Kärkkäinen 87).
