Exercise science is the scientific study of human movement performed to maintain or improve physical fitness by executing physical activity according to the respective routine. Exercise science includes such aspects as biomechanics, sport nutrition, cardiovascular fitness, resistance training, exercise psychology, motor behaviour and fitness for special population groups. Physical activity is any body movement that works our muscles and requires more energy than resting. Walking, running, dancing, swimming, yoga, and gardening are a few examples of physical activity. According to the Department of Health and Human Services ' 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, physical activity generally refers to movement that enhances health. …show more content…
Physical activity is good for many parts of our body. Sport competition is a contest held to determine the best athletes and teams and greatest achievements in sports, to improve athletic skills, and to popularize physical culture and sports. Sports competitions provide an opportunity to evaluate objectively the sports organizations, coaches, athletes, and officials. Depending on the purposes and circumstances of the events, sports competitions may involve individual competition, team competition, or a combination of the two. Official competitions for the title of champion, a cup, or other prize are distinguished from qualifying competitions, which determine the eligibility of participants for the main event, and exhibition matches, including traditional competitions. A sport competition may be conducted as a round robin, that is, a contest in which all participants compete against one another once or several times and the points won by each entrant are totaled. It may be conducted on the basis of elimination, by which losers are disqualified, or as a combination of the round robin and the elimination …show more content…
It responds to acute challenges of the body while the important considerations are disease conditions and sport performance. Muscular system provides movement with muscle fiber as the primary content. Three types of muscles are skeletal, cardiac and smooth. Skeletal system function as the structural framework of the body, protects underlying organs and tissues, provides a lever system for movements and serves as a storage area for minerals. The primary components are minerals and cells bone while osteoporosis is a serious disease condition. Cardiovascular system function transporting oxygen, nutrients, hormones, electrolytes, and drugs also removing waste products from the body. The primary components are heart, blood vessels, and blood. Worst cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death. Pulmonary system functions to move air into and out of the lungs and regulation of acid-base balance. The primary component is lung and this system is the important factor during exercise due to ability to exhale carbon dioxide and regulate blood pH levels. Urinary system functions as the elimination of waste products and regulation of fluid volume, electrolyte composition, and pH. Kidney is the primary component. Hypertension can be influenced by increasing the amount of fluid removed by the kidneys. Digestive system functions to transfer of nutrients and water from the food we consume into the body. The primary component is gastrointestinal
Unit 5 Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care P4 Explain the physiology of two named body systems in relation to energy metabolism in the body The two body systems selected in relation to energy metabolism in the body are the digestive system and cardiovascular system. The digestive system breaks down foods and the cardiovascular system enables absorption and usage of the food. The term energy metabolism in the body relates to chemical reactions that that maintain cells and organisms. It is divided into two categories: catabolism is the breakdown of molecules to obtain energy and anabolism the synthesis of all compounds needed by the cells.
Homeostasis is the body's method of keeping internal stability no matter what external influence disturbs its normal functioning (Anna, 2011). And the respiratory system is one of the systems in the body that helps to maintain homeostasis by maintaining pH and regulating gas exchange. The main function of this system is take in oxygen and get rid of carbon dioxide. This system has external respiration and internal respiration. External respiration is a mechanical process that exchange of gases in and out of the body, while internal respiration is the chemical process that breaking down nutrients with oxygen to produce energy.
This rigor continue through the marching band season. According to the Oxford Dictionary, sport means an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another

Exercise Science, or physical activity, is described as the scientific examination of exercise. Physical activity (bodily movement) can range from anything to walking, dancing, or even cleaning. Statistics show that the more the body is inactive, the less healthy a person is going to be. Sports professionals allow all of the knowledge that has been obtained by the players to be applied to their sport. For example, in physical
The digestive system is responsible for chemically and mechanically breaking down food and includes organs such as, mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, rectum, anus, and additional accessory organs. These organs all aid in the breakdown of food. Food is broken down mechanically by chewing and churning in the stomach, and chemically by acidic enzymes in the stomach and in the small intestine which receives enzymes from the pancreas that are specifically designed for the breakdown of nutrients. Once the food and nutrients are broken down, the excretory system removes whatever the body decides is waste by filtering blood in the nephrons of the kidneys and turning it into urine which is then collected in the bladder and removed from the body when the bladder is
Geometry is an extremely vital part of the sport of baseball. People may not know it, but almost everything done during a game of baseball has something to do with geometry. Many examples could prove how the favorite pastime of America would not be itself if Geometry was not around to play an important role To begin with, the infield is formed in the shape of a diamond, which is just a parallelogram that is equilateral, and an essential part of the sport due to the fact that most of the players on the roster stand and make plays in that area. Also, the bases on the field take on the appearance of squares, whose definition is a parallelogram that is equilateral and equiangular, the bases are also a major part of the game since it must be touched by the
Explain why the Australian Dietary Guidelines were developed. The Australian Dietary Guidelines were developed because many Australians have died from chronic disease due to unhealthy diet. Experts have scientific evidence that switching diets to healthy eating can improve the quality of lives and wellbeing, as well as preventing chronic disease. The guidelines were developed to inform the general public about making healthy food choices.
Pro golfers practice often, are in great physical condition and make a living from golfing. Golf draws many spectators per year. Golf meets the definition of a sport because it takes skill and practice to be a great golfer, and meets the large majority of definitions. A sport is defined as “Sport means all forms of physical activity, which through casual or organised participation, aim at expressing or improving physical fitness and mental well-being, forming social relationships or obtaining results in competition at all levels" by the council of Europe charter on sport (Taylor).
The second system that is vital to figure skating is the respiratory system. This system allows the skater to breath in oxygen into the lungs. The lungs then transfer it to the circulatory system. It also gets rid of carbon dioxide. The third body system used while figure skating is the musculoskeletal system.

The muscular system might be the most important system in the whole entire body. This system helps us digest food and keeps our heart and lungs moving. In the body there are two different types of muscles: the voluntary and involuntary. The muscular system helps you move because it helps your joints move which helps your bones bend. All of the major organs in this system are the heart, the lungs, and the digestive tracks.
The adrenals are known for making the hormone adrenaline but also, they make the corticosteroids which affect your metabolism and sexual function. The pancreas is part of the the digestive system and the endocrine system. It makes the hormones insulin and glucagon. These help ensure you have the right amount of sugar in your bloodstream and your cells. If you don 't make any insulin, which is the case for people with type one diabetes, your blood sugar levels can get dangerously high and if the body makes some insulin but not enough, that is type two diabetes.
