In A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens the character Ebenezer Scrooge is very selfish. Scrooge is very wealthy but refuses to spend any money. Scrooge starts to become more aware of his selfishness when three ghosts come to visit him. The Ghost of Christmas past, present, and yet to come. After seeing Scrooge decided it was wrong and became more open hearted. In the beginning Scrooge is very selfish he doesn’t want to spend money so he lives in darkness. By the middle of the book Scrooge is starting to show some emotion and even tried blaming a tear on a pimple. At the end Scrooge is begging for forgiveness and wanting to live a long and happy life.
