Romeo And Juliet by Shakespeare have developed many reasonings for Romeos and Juliet's death. But this was all Frair Lawrence's responsibility for the cause of Romeos and Juliet's death. an explanation for why is that Frair Lawrence's plan did not go well at all nor was it a good idea. His plan of sending the letter all the way to Romeo was a fail and didn't work at all, if he did reach his letter to Romeo then Romeo wold has been alarmed about this plan and wouldn't have killed himself. He basically didn't think of the consequences of his plan backfiring. While delivering his letter to Frair John to send to Romeo, The only response he had received was, "I could not send it, Nor get a messenger to bring it thee, so fearful were they of infection." …show more content…
For Romeo to see her for one last time, he would've known this was all a plan and a set if he had received a letter from Frair John if Frair Lawrence's plan had worked. When Juliet first woke up from her coffin the first thing she had seen was Romeos and Paris's dead body right next to her. Friar Lawrence had caught her in the scene with Romeo, Paris, And Juliet. He was in such a hurry he had to leave her all by herself saying "I dare no longer stay." leaving Juliet all alone with Romeo's dead body next to her. This whole plan had happened because of Juliet having to marry Paris, Frair Lawrence obviously should've known the consequences between Romeo and Juliet if they were left alone while 1 was dead. Fate and destiny have a chokehold on those two. They are willing to do anything for each other even if it means killing themselves. It's blankly obvious something would have happened to Juliet if she was left alone with Romeo's dead body, which was to kill herself. And plus Frair Lawrence didn't help at all with the death of Romeo when he's the love of Juliet's life, Juliet would obviously feel somber and guilty for that thinking it was her
By him lending a sleeping potion to Juliet, even though a poisonous liquid could mistake it, one can see the Friar’s untrustworthy decisions for the lovers. Since Juliet did not want to marry Paris the next day, she forces herself to take the potion to fake her death and mislead her own family. After examining the Friar’s responsibility for Juliet’s fake death by giving her a sleeping potion, it can be seen how disloyal his decisions are for the lovers. Therefore, Friar Lawrence should be blamed for the deaths of the
James wisely Ms. Antle English 1 March 11 2023 Romeo and juliet deaths Romeo and friar Lawrence are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and juliet. Is this story they both make bad decisions that lead to the death for the both of them. Romeo wanted to marry juliet. Also friar Lawrenc wanted to get juliet poison to make it look like juliet died. In romeo and juliet by william shakespeare friar laurence and romeo are foils in the play because romeo is really impressive and easy played and fryer lawrence should have not have given them stuiped ideas to romeo and juliet and they both have a lot of bad ideas.
Friar Lawrence then had another Friar deliver a message to Romeo of his pan with Juliet. However the message never made it to Romeo, leading him to believe like all others, that Juliet was dead. Romeo then traveled to Verona so that he may see Juliet one last time before he kills himself. Once Romeo made his way down to the Capulet’s vault, he had a confrontation with Paris that resulted in Paris’ death, making Paris yet another death in the Friars poor decisions.
The last plan he had was to give Juliet a non-lethal drug that will make her seem dead for the next forty-two hours, have her buried in the family crypt, and found by Romeo. Romeo, who at the time had been banished from the city and sent to a near-by city, was waiting for news that he had been pardoned, which never happens. Instead, he gets news that Juliet has died, which of course isn’t true, but he goes ballistic over it. He buys poison, and heads back to the city to see if it’s true for himself, goes into the Capulet crypt, sees Juliet’s “dead” body which has been “dead” for almost two days, which still has color in it, and kills himself. Five seconds later, Friar Lawrence shows up because the person who was supposed to send the message to Romeo that Juliet hadn’t actually died got held up, so Romeo never got the message.
Shakespeare uses Friar Lawrence’s failed plans, to show that he is ultimately responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet. One reason Frair Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is because of his selfishness to unite Capulet and Montagues. Romeo and Juliet are from rival families and won't even stand to talk to each other. When Friar finds out the two are a couple he marries them in a matter of days in hopes of uniting the two families. Friar knew this could end up poorly, as Friar says, “These violent delights have violent ends… /
In Act 3 Scene 5 of the play we see how Capulet wants Juliet to marry Paris, but if Friar Lawrence had told the Capulets that he married Juliet to Romeo they would certainly be vexed but they would not force Juliet to marry Paris. The arranged marriage took a toll on Juliet’s mental health, leading her to threaten taking her life multiple times. The scheme Friar concocted involved Juliet drinking a potentially harmful potion that would simulate death. The idea behind that plan was that shortly after Juliet was placed in the Capulet’s sepulcher and awoke from her artificial death, Romeo would be there to take her to Mantua. However the entire plan was centered on Romeo receiving a letter from Friar.
Firstly, he willingly agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet despite their families' feuding and them still being young. Secondly, he agrees to marry Juliet and Paris, complicating the situation and worsening conflicts. Finally, he suggests the misguided plan of faking Juliet's death, which results in a miscommunication and Romeo's tragic decision to end his life. Friar Lawrence bears significant responsibility for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet due to his irresponsible and ill-advised decisions. Their story serves as a reminder of how misguided actions and decisions can have a profound impact, underscoring the importance of thoughtfulness and wisdom when faced with complex
Juliet was arranged to marry Paris days after she and Romeo were wed. Friar Lawrence saw the tragedy in that event “O Juliet, I already know thy grief”(4.1, 47). Due to the fact that Friar Lawrence saw the issue, he was compelled to make a plan to help Juliet avoid the arranged marriage. “Hold, daughter. I do spy a kind of hope, / Which crave desperate an execution / As that is desperate which we would present /
Other than Romeo, Juliet is also to blame for their death. If Juliet didn’t just think through the plan the outcome could have been better. Instead of threatening to kill herself to Friar Lawrence he wouldn’t have come up with the plan to bury her and send a letter to Romeo. Because
By also assisting Romeo with a plan when he is banished from Verona, as well as continuing to help the two lovers meet when separated, Friar Lawrence is risking the spotting of the banned Romeo in Verona. However more importantly, they also help by creating a diversion to keep Juliet from marrying Paris, her parent’s choice of groom. By creating a plan in which Juliet fakes her own death by drinking a liquid provided by the Friar from his garden, more problems are eventually caused and faced. If this act (engineered by Friar Lawrence and the Nurse) had not happened, along with Friar John had not being able to successfully delivering the message for this plan, Romeo would not be shocked when given the news that his newly wedded wife has been found dead on her bed. This then causes Romeo to go to Juliet’s grave, where she lays unconscious.
but I feel that it wasn't his fault. Friar John was the cause of why Romeo had committed suicide because he didn't know that Juliet had taken a potion that faked her death. Juliet had killed herself because she saw Romeo laying their dead and didn't want to live her life without him. I feel that Friar John is not for the full blame that the couple themselves and their families are the main cause of the death. My reasoning for feeling that Frair Lawrence is not to blame is because he never wanted to hurt them,he thought the letters had reach Romeo, all he wanted was for them to be happy.
His impulsive decisions and selfishness played an immense role in this catastrophe. Justice must be served in order to bring peace back among the people of Friar Verona. The main reason that Friar Lawrence is to blame for the tragic death of both Romeo and Juliet is because of his rash and ill-guided
After all of these events, it appears that Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he was aware that the plan is risky, but he still follows through with the
Plus he knew that Romeo did not get the letter, so if he came by to “pay his respects to Juliet he would be there to let him know of the situation if he stopped by. But because he was so sure his plan was perfect by the time he came to make sure Juliet was awake he found Romeo and Paris dead and Juliet saying she is killing herself. He runs away so people don't think it was him and then he re enters and then confesses of his wrongdoings. “I will be brief, for my short date of
Then, through letters, Romeo will be informed of this, to meet her as she awakes in the tomb, and they will run away together to Mantua. His plan has many variables that could go wrong, yet he does not consider the precariousness of any of it. He does not know whether the potion will even work in time for Romeo to find her, if at all, or if it will be her groom Paris to find her “dead”, or what would happen if Romeo does not receive the letters. The fact that he never even thinks about all of these major dangers demonstrates his naïvety. As the knowledgeable adult in the situation, what he needed to do was to guide Juliet to safer alternatives, perhaps discussing with Capulet.
