In the book Night, we the readers witness the hardships and struggles in Elie’s life during the traumatic holocaust. The events that take place in this story are unbearable and are thought to be demented in modern times. In the beginning Elie is shown as a normal teenage Jewish boy, but the events are so drastic that we the readers forget how he was like in the beginning. Changes were made to Elie during the book, whether they were minor or major. The changes generated from himself, the journey, and other people.
In his award winning book “Night” Elie Wiesel gives his first hand account of the terrors of the holocaust and Nazi Germany. He goes through to explain the injustices that happened to him and the rest of the jewish people living in europe at this time, telling of the horrid dehumanization of a whole race and others targeted by the Nazi regime. Many of the horrors perpetuated by this group are in direct violation of the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. One instance of violation shows up when the prisoners are explaining how buna used to be to Elie.
Aristotle wrote, “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light (Aristotle)”. The Holocaust was one of the darkest times humanity has ever seen. A machination brewed by an extraordinarily perverse man that resulted in the deaths of millions, and robbed millions more of their faith and hope. Families were torn apart, towns were destroyed, and humanity lost, all to satisfy one man’s extreme racism and psychotic agenda. If however, one only chooses to focus on the darkness, they might overlook the light, specifically in the two stories of boys who survived against all odds and shared their tales years after defying death.

The story of Night by Elie Wiesel depicts his journey, beginning from a free life in Sighet, Transylvania during World War II. He, along with his family and the other Jews of Sighet are placed in ghettos then transported to concentration camps. Separated from his mother and sister, Elie strives to find a way to survive alongside his father. He recounts his experiences under Nazi German oppression from his imprisonment in Auschwitz to his liberation in Buchenwald.
Night by Elie Wiesel was a novel with great horror and suffering during the Holocaust. “Three days later, a new decree:every Jew had to wear the yellow star”(Wiesel 11).This quote marks the beginning of the religious segregation for Eliezer and his family. At this time the Jews had to wear stars, but as the novel progressed it got worse. It started as clothing then went to ghettos. Ghettos were enclosed districts where Jews lived separately from the world.

Bruno is Brave Bruno can be considered brave for many reasons. For me, he is brave not because he is innocent, but he is the kind of kids that want to know everything. Bruno knows some of the actions that can caused himself a problem, but he is still doing it. We all know that the story is during the time of The Holocaust.
The book, Night, was written by Elie Wiesel to show people what the holocaust was really like. The Nazis put Wiesel through concentration camps starting as a young boy. As the time in the camps went on, the Holocaust continues to grow where more victims pass away. The loss of these victims declines the conversation of the experience. Elie Wiesel decided to write the book Night, to have an emotional connection with his readers, so they wouldn’t be able to forget the holocaust.
How does one win and when has one lost? This question is not always clear-cut when applied to life and its many events, especially when a large portion of “happiness” or suffering is involved. When losing, one can learn important lessons that cannot be taught whilst winning and vice versa when winning. This is why it is one’s job to analyze the goings-on of everything they see or experience to discern whether those involved are actually winning or losing. How can one who has suffered so much still be a winner?
I personally believe that Elie Wiesel is inaccurate with his claim. He states that “Remembering the Holocaust will help ensure that this type of atrocity does not occur in the future”. I strongly disagree with Elie’s claim because even if people understand this dramatic event, there is always going to be evil in the world and not everyone is going to care about the devastation of these events. Some people will wreck havoc among us, and we can’t stop it with an explanation of what happened last time. We as people need to stop obsessing over the past, and look into our futures, and how we will make the world a better place throughout the future.
Racism In Elie Wiesel's memoir Night he goes threw the holocaust and the horrible things that happened to the people in the concentration camps. Elie was a jew who lived in the town of Sighet. He was put in a ghetto at the age of 15 in the year 1944. He then spends time working hard and trying to survive for his father until the day of his father's death on january 28, 1945 just months before his liberation on April 11, 1945.
This is a confusing, powerful story set during World War II where wealthy ignorant boy meets an “out-with” Jew. the film stays true to the book through the plot where Bruno dies, And deviates through the mother 's character and the resolution. Since Bruno died of the same reason in both the film version and the book, it shows how the film stayed true to the book. Bruno had left to go to the Concentration Camp with Shmuel thinking they would just go find Shmuel’s father and Say Goodbye.
This was the beginning of their friendship created during tough times of the Holocaust. The races of Jews and Germans were separated after World War I and Jews were put into concentration camps run by the Nazis.
