Abstract A method to transform carbonate into graphene using shock-wave loading is presented in this paper. Graphene was synthesized using a detonation-driven flyer impacting mixtures of calcium carbonate and magnesium. In addition, by adding ammonium nitrate to the reaction system, nitrogen-doped graphene was formed in a one-step shock wave treatment. The recovered samples were characterized using various techniques such as transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction
2. GRAPHENE FABRICATION TECHNIQUES Fabrication of graphene can be divided into two different approaches. They are bottom-up and top-down approaches. Bottom-up methods involve synthesizing graphene from alternative carbon containing sources, whereas top-down methods involve breaking apart the stacked layers of graphite to yield graphene. Figure shows the schematic representation of the bottom-up and top-down graphene synthesis. Figure 10: A schematic of ‘bottom-up’ and ‘top-down’ graphene synthesis

Today, the most important instrument for tissue engineering scientists to produce replacement tissues and implants to repair or replace damaged tissue. Tissue engineering is generating a new field of study in which the principles of engineering and biology to correct the damaged tissue, uses and can renewal, operation and maintenance of tissue healing. In order to use an ideal scaffold Tissue engineering should
* In GO the Defect(D) peak and Graphitic(G) peak are seen at 1359 and 1586 cm-1 respectively. * Upon functionalisation there is no change in the defect peak but the G peak shows two fittings for the sp2 and sp3 hybridisation in graphene and fullerene respectively. * Also the G band is highly red shifted. * Appearance of 2D peak at 2795 cm-1 and G’peak at 2913 cm-1 due to large domain size of sp2 carbon network. * Further the ID/IG ratio of GO and PCBGO were compared to see the
During one of the lab sessions that I attended, we observed a peculiar phenomenon. Before us were two small blocks— one made of aluminum and one made of plastic. When we touched each of the blocks, we noticed that the aluminum block was much cooler to the touch than the plastic block. We then put an ice cube on both the aluminum and the plastic blocks. Astonishingly, the ice melted faster on the cold aluminum block than on the plastic block. This experiment seemed to defy our logic; should not the

INTRODUCTION 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 Fundamentals of capacitor Capacitor is very useful component in the field of engineering and it is used in various electrical and electronic circuitries. Capacitor stores energy in the form of electric field. Capacitor also known as condensers which stores energy when charge and release energy when discharge . There are different forms of capacitors which are used widely, but common thing about this all capacitors is that they are made of two conductors

Strategic planning refers to the organizational activities in the management structure of a business, which focuses on the use of different resources to meet its set objectives and strengthen its operations. A comprehensive strategic plan ensures that all the parties involved like the stakeholders and employees all work hard to achieve the agreed goals.
In the graphene novel he has superhuman powers because he can climb mountains really fast. “Shelly states “ “ He suddenly quitted me fearful, perhaps of any change in sediment. I saw him descend the mountain with greater speed than the flight of an eagle, and
To the victims of Hurricane Maria and those suffering from the water crisis. Hope. Do not give up hope. Right now, hope is your strongest quality. It gives you love, life and a reason to keep going. Without hope, you would be no where. You would be lost with no destination. You would be completely, utterly, broken. The events that have occurred and are occurring to you, people of Puerto Rico, are terrible tragedies that no one should go through. The drought and lack of clean water are effects due
‘Learning is a process that begins in the cradle and ends in the grave’ I believe in these quotes which remind and motivate me to strive hard to learn more each day of my life, to expand the horizons of my knowledge with each passing moment. The constant development and improvisation of innovative technologies has led to the erosion of the older versions of technologies. I want to learn and satiate my never-ending curiosity in computers and make the best use of the

Introduction Technology has changed a lot in recent years. Siegfried Marcus brought about the idea of cars by making the first gasoline engine and attaching it to wheels. (ASME). Like the gasoline engines, the first diesel engine was invented by Rudolf Diesel (Britannica). Karl Benz made the first gasoline motorcar, and this was the first vehicle ever produced in the world (Daimler). Today, we can clearly see that automobiles have changed a lot over the time duration, especially in recent years
enhance liquid lens. My contribution was to create a simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics software to measure the application of voltage and a water droplet. For this project, I authored a paper titled: Enhancing Liquid Lens Using Electrowetting and Graphene Material [citation]. These experiences gave me quite a diverse background in engineering and computer science. Pursing a doctoral degree, would let me make an impact on the world. Radical changes happens every day with technology. Artificial intelligence
Carbon nanotubes have been discovered to be an efficient drug delivery system to cancer cells. Nanotechnology is the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules. Nanotechnology has positively impacted many fields of medicine including the treatment of cancer. Cancer is a disease caused by uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body. There are several current treatments for
Identification of the issue The Industrial Revolution of the late 17th and early 18th century can be defined as a transition from predominantly agrarian economy to an industrial and manufacturing one. This being the first revolution of its kind, sparked by the industrial revolution that began in late 17th century in Britain, was popularly known as the ‘First Industrial Revolution’. What triggered this transformation in economy was the mechanization of manufacturing process which was supported by
A fact for any electric vehicle is that it is dependent on the battery, which drives it, just as a petrole-um based car is dependent on its engine and fuel. The battery is, of course, what leads to the bene-fits of the electric car, like the fact that the car itself emits no CO2. But it also has some drawbacks when compared to a petroleum based car. Refuelling a petroleum based car is a simple process, simply pour petrol into the tank, it takes about ten minutes and then one can drive on. An electric
mechanical properties. The number of additives are numerous and show the versatility of Poly (ether sulphone) to incorporate new materials in making composites. The different additives are added as per requirement of application. For example, addition of Graphene oxide to improve the thermal and mechanical properties. The mechanical properties effect is shown through the comparison of Poly (ether sulphone) with 30% Carbon fibre and with 40% Glass fibre. Processing Poly (ether sulphone) processing
The nanotechnology potentially makes the human to rendering to recent and increasing hazards due to some individual properties such as its very small size and high ratio of area to mass. Nanotechnology is the competent invention of materials and systems in nanometer length scale, and exploits the rising properties and phenomenon which have been developed in nano scale. The word “nano” means 10-9, so a nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. One description of nanoscience is the study of atoms, molecules
happens is dependent on the temperature and density. When the distance between particles increases the rate of reaction decreases [1]. After a star cools the carbon begins to collect in the photosphere condensing and forming microstructures with graphene cores. The droplets conglomerate into larger dust particles before eventually being ejected from the photosphere. In this paper I will review the research focusing on carbon dust formation. This is believed to occur primarily in red giant stars
