The morning of Tuesday September 11, 2011 is one of the biggest tradgies of all time. On this specific day four airlines were hijacked by an Islamic group that goes by the name al-Qaeda. The attacks took the lives of 2,996 innocent people, injured nearly 6,000 people, and caused at least $10 billion in infracture and property damage. These attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, will forever be remebered as one of the most horrific days for so many people around this world. Initally, al-Qaeda considered targeting nuclear power plants on 9/11, but decided to go against it because they feared it would get too out of control.
Both airplane dropped into the canyon. There were no survivors among the 128 persons onboard the flights. The collision occurred while both of the regularly scheduled passenger service flights were flying under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) The 1956 Grand Canyon mid-air collision occurred on Saturday, June 30, 1956 at 10:30 am Pacific Average Period after a United Airlines Douglas DC-7 assaulted a Trans Globe Airlines Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation above the Grand Canyon inside the borders of Grand Canyon Nationwide Park, resulting in the crash of both airliners. One hour and 42 minutes after the crash of the planes both 110 stories towers collapsed resulting fire and the collapsing and damage to the other towers. Including the seven world trade center tower which has 47 stories. It is almost sixteen years since that fear was imposed on us and the age of terror began in earnest.
Each plane had a distinctive destination. These locations included The World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and an undisclosed location, which we will never know. The terrorist had a calculated plan and initiated an attack so horrible that three hundred and forty three firefighters and paramedics lost their lives. Twenty three New York City police officers and thirty seven Port Authority police officers were also killed. Could we have had less casualties if we, our nation, was better prepared?
On Tuesday September 11 2001, there was the 9/11 attack in New York City. At 8:46 A.M , American Airlines flight 11 a Boeing 767, flew into the north tower. Then at 9:06 A.M, United Airlines flight 175, another Boeing 767, flew into the south tower. Hijackers causes the 9/11. It affected people because a lot of people died that day and some got hurt really bad.

Miller defines name calling as, “a device to make us form a judgment without examining the evidence on which it should be based” (211). Bush uses terms such as “terrorist”, “traitor” and “enemies”. All of these terms Bush used are terms that incline a negative meaning. He stated to the American people, the world leaders, the congress, as well as all government officials in the US, that the Al Qaeda are in fact, traitors, terrorists, and enemies.
Not only did they lose someone they loved or almost lost their lives, this event affected them long term. Some have medical issues, mental issues, and emotional issues. The citizens of New York were affected severely by the event that happened on September 11, 2001. Out of the 2,606 people that died in the World Trade Center, 1,762 were residents of New York (Statistic Brain Research Institue). People not only died from the explosion of the airplane crashing into the twin towers, but had to make the decision to jump because there was no way out.
