Atticus is a very complex character in To Kill A Mockingbird. There are two main reasons to dignify him from other people in Maycomb. Atticus is a very calm man especially in a intense situation. Two ways to prove that he’s calm is, Atticus is a good father, and Atticus is a good person. To make Atticus a good father he helps Scout with her problems at school and throughout her life. In the beginning of the novel Scout struggled with her teacher, Miss Caroline. Scout would get in trouble for knowing how to read, so her teacher forbid her to read at home with her father. Scout was devestated with the fact of getting and trouble, but not being able to read with Atticus anymore made it worse. Atticus made a deal with her that if she promised not to tell her

One of the most powerful people in a person's life is their dad. This is an important philosophy in our society. However, opinions on what makes a father such a powerful figure in our lives vary. I believe a father must be strong and able to provide and protect the family. A father must be there for the family to lean on, they have to be the core of the family. Without each of these traits a dad is not good at being a father. In the story “ To Kill A Mockingbird” Atticus Finch is a very good father. Atticus is willing to explain everything to Jem and Scout. Mr. Finch always expects good behavior out of Jem and Scout. Atticus also provides everything for his family.

Heroes are not invincible, and certainly are not the ones who always win; however, a hero is someone who, despite this, is courageous enough to fight for what is right. Atticus Finch, one of the most inspiring literary characters from the highly acclaimed novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, is an example of such. This classic novel is told from the perspective of Scout Finch, Atticus’ daughter, a young girl who lives in the town of Maycomb County, Alabama, in the 1930s, a town where prejudice and discrimination is rife. Rather than succumbing to societal expectations and adopting the extreme animosity held by the other citizens, Atticus views and treats all with the dignity and respect that they are entitled to, guiding his
Atticus Finch is the parent of two children, Jean Louise Finch, formerly known as Scout and Jeremy Finch, formerly known as Jem in Harper Lee’s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Atticus is considered a role model in the eyes of a parent reading the novel, but what they do not know is how ineffective of a parent Atticus Finch really is. Atticus Finch is an ineffective parent because of his lack of safety for his children and the inability to control Jem and Scout outside of their home. Atticus constantly endangers Jem and Scout into situations they should not be exposed to at such an early age. Without the supervision of Atticus outside the Finch household, they commit acts of anarchy. Atticus Finch is simply a pathetic parent.
Every day in our lives, heroes are all around us. They may not be what society tells us is a hero, like Superman or Batman. They do not wear fancy costumes or have super powers. But these heroes change the lives of the people around them, for the better. Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird is the charismatic, understanding father of Scout and Jem Finch as well as a hard working lawyer in Maycomb County, Alabama. Despite racial inequalities in the South, Atticus sticks to his own morals and agrees to be the defending lawyer for Tom Robinson, a black man being accused of raping a white woman. Although Atticus’ defense in court was thorough and clearly proved Tom’s innocence, the jury was prejudiced towards black folks and convicted Tom as guilty. Nonetheless, Atticus is still a hero despite losing the case. He has the courage to stand up for what he believes in, fights with reason rather than guns, and has utmost determination, making him a hero despite being just an average human being. Ultimately, his thoughts and actions set the stage for major changes in the meaning of equality throughout Maycomb County, changing lives of numerous people.
“Dad, you have to buy me this, my friend has this at school and it is SO cool. It only costs ten dollars, please.” A good father may be the one that always buys anything, and everything for their child/children but in reality, a father with good punishement, and teaching to do the right thing may be considered a good father. Atticus Finch may not be like your average everyday father. From Jem and Scout’s point of view, they do not see anything “wrong” with him. Being a father must be hard, but being a father in Maycomb, Alabama around 1930 makes it even harder for the whole family. While Atticus is not a good father because he does not punish his children, Atticus is a good father to Scout and Jem. Atticus
A parent’s love and care is a major key to makes their children feel special .For example, in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the Ewell family don't care what their children do or if they attend school. This represents not being an ideal parent and a parent who does not care about their children. Parents should show their love by using warm words, hugs and facial expressions. As a matter of fact, they should always explain something to their child calmly and out of love. Love is a valuable thing that parents should have because it helps them understand their child better . For example, in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus is warm-hearted with his children, Jem and Scout. He is always ready comfort his children when they are having bad day and he is also ready to spend time with them whenever they need him. Atticus is also a brave father because when he takes the case of Tom Robinson , people of Maycomb start talking bad about him and telling rude stuff to Scout/Jem. When they ask him why he is supporting him?, he says sometimes you have to fight even if the whole world is against you. He teaches them good

A father plays a crucial role in the life of his children.
