Creative Title Many people believe integrity is one of the most important traits to have. Nowhere is this concept more prevalent than in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In the town of Maycomb, racism and prejudice are so deeply ingrained in society, they impact every aspect of daily life, including the justice system and one’s right to a fair and equal trial. Despite this fact, Atticus Finch is wise to accept Tom Robinson’s case due to the benefits to both his children and his community. By choosing to defend Tom Robinson, Atticus is choosing to teach his children morals and the value of standing up for what they believe in, rather than letting them fall victim to the racist hivemind of Maycomb.
He is still a fine father whose has unconditional love and commitment for Christopher which allows him to grow in spite of the numerous challenges he faces. Nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes in life, but some mistakes are forgivable. “We all make mistakes. Don't let that be the reason you give up on somebody” - anonymous. Ed Boone, a father of a fifteen-year-old son with Asperger, has made many mistakes in his life because he was trying to keep Christopher happy and safe.
Hassan’s ability to suffer without becoming bitter frustrated Amir greatly, often making him feel guilty of his actions. The substantial thing about Hassan was that he remained a truly good and genuine person, even though he had his fair share of hard times. Even years later, after being driven out of the house by Amir and growing up to live his own life, Hassan never thought of holding a grudge against Amir, making him truly admirable. Hassan married a woman named Farzana and they conceived a child together. Hassan named his son ‘Sohrab”, after Amir’s and his favourite book when they were little, highlighting that Amir remained very important to him.
Atticus Finch is portrayed as great parent in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The way Atticus Finch acts at home and on the streets provide a good role model for Jem and Scout. He is a parent who always does the right thing and stays true to himself and to his children at all times. Atticus is a positive role model for his children because he is the same character wherever he goes and whoever he talks to. When Scout misinterprets Miss Maudie’s words she attempts to defend his father about how he does not do anything at home different than what he would do at work.
Self respect is one of the most foremost essential traits to acquire in life. “It is then that you can extend yourself out to meet the needs of others”(evagregory.com). In Joseph Bruchac’s Code Talker, Ned Begay’s self respect is perhaps his most important attribute in that it allows him to stand up for himself, to pursue his goals, and to share his story. Firstly, Ned Begay’s ability to stand up for himself is a crucial aspect of his self respect. When he is “left standing there, a sad little boy holding tight against [his] chest” he is clinging to his past life, tradition, and families (12).
In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch is a great man, father, husband and neighbor. He’s there for others and stands up for what’s right. He believes in equality and never gives up on hope for his children. He disciplines them like adults, rather than the typical way of disciplining children. Atticus Finch has black hair, that is slowly turning gray, and he wears glasses because of the carried down eye problem.
The way he handles his kids is his own business because it works for him. He teaches his kids the right things to do, how to treat people, and to look at everyone the same, and he expects them to do so. Jem and Scout are not perfect; however, they respect their father. On the other hand, Atticus is doing better than his sister, Aunt Alexandra. Francis was a racist, mean, little girl that only cares about her last name.
In To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus is seen as a powerful father figure in his children's lives. Atticus is firm, but fair. He also has Integrity. Atticus also has quiet dignity. When Bob Ewell spat in his face and Atticus reacted very mature to show Jem how he would not let that get to him.
Being a traditional parent doesn’t mean parenting exactly like others; doesn’t everyone have their own parenting style? In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch is a prime example of an unusual parent; he shows his kids when and when not to let pride stand in the way of whats right as well as treating people with respect despite their differences. Atticus portrays an example of a good parent. To begin, pride is one of the main reason a man/women will stand up for what is right when they know it is wrong; they will always do the right thing to help out others. Atticus — the father to Jem and Scout— teaches is children just that.
Admirability is a quality that many strive to acquire, yet, most fail to achieve. Admirability is the ability to be admired or respected by others, even if they don’t necessarily agree with one’s point of view. In the classic novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, a loving father named Atticus, earns respect from his children, Jem and Scout, and almost his entire community. Wisdom, compassion, and responsibility are just a few things that make Atticus an easily likable character. To begin with, Atticus gives great words of wisdom to Jem and Scout.
