This year marks the 123rd anniversary of basketball. Over this large span of time, many great basketball players have played in the NBA (National Basketball Association). Two of the most well-known basketball players are Lebron James and Michael Jordan. Although Lebron James and Michael Jordan played in different eras of basketball history, they both share a similar play style and are considered among the best people to ever play basketball.
First off, Lebron James and Michael Jordan played during different times in basketball history. Jordan played during the following years: 1984 to 1993, 1995 to 1998, and 2001 to 2003. On the contrary, James was drafted in 2003 and is still currently in the NBA. During Jordan’s career, more fouls were called which led to more foul shots. However, less fouls are called nowadays which leads to less fouls shots. Jordan’s career was filled with less players considered “greats”, but on the other hand, James’s career, there are more of these types of players in the NBA. They both would drive (dribble) the ball to the lane very frequently. This would result in a layup or a flashy dunk. Another result would be possibly getting fouled and being sent to the foul line to shoot foul shots. James and Jordan were not selfish basketball players either. They get a lot of assists as well. For example, Lebron James almost averaged a triple-double (at least ten points, rebounds, and assists) last year every game! These players also had the ability to take over the game if their team needed a boost. For instance, Lebron had a game last season where he scored sixty-one points! On the contrary, Jordan had a game where he scored sixty-nine points! Lebron James and Michael Jordan looked like very similar players on the court based off their play
