more hate in their relationship. The hate in their relationship resulted in many tragedies, including the death of Romeo and Juliet. All of the consequences they received were a result of their parent's long-lasting hostile behavior. Romeo made many commitments to himself and Juliet, he went against his family, changed his name, and of course killed himself. You could say this was because of love but I disagree. He did these things because he had to, because of the hatred between their families. An example of this forced commitment is seen in Act 2 of “Romeo and Juliet”, “Deny thy father and refuse thy name;/ Or, if thou will not, be sworn my love.” (2.2.36-37) This shows Juliet convincing Romeo to change his name to make their love easier. This only was a problem because of the long-lasting feud between the Montagues and Capulets. How does this relate to the death of Romeo? The death of Romeo was just another commitment made as a result of the fight between the families. …show more content…
Because of the hatred, Juliet had to fake her death. If there wasn’t an issue between the families Juliet and Romeo would be together and Juliet wouldn't have to attempt to get Romeo’s attention. After Juliet “dying” Romeo was in much distress and overwhelmed with emotions he was very sad about the death of the love of his life and angry at his family for being the cause of this tragedy. Being overwhelmed with emotions he decided to end his life. He felt it was not worth living without the adventure of being with Juliet. “Will I set up my everlasting rest,/ And shake the yoke of inauspicious stars.” (5.3.111-112) This quote is an example of how he was feeling before he committed suicide. He was full of feelings of hatred as well as love. He meant that it is a shame that their unlucky love ended in such a tragedy. I can tell he had these feelings because he was angry about the fact that their parents fighting ruined their
In my mind this gives me every reason to believe the death of Romeo and Juliet is a result of the hatred between their families and the tension of their love to keep it secret. Another main character that I thought played a huge role in the deaths in Romeo and Juliet is Mr. Capulet (Juliet's father). In Document D Mr. Capulet says “But fettle your fine joint’s ‘gainst Thursday next, To go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church, Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither” DBQ Project: Romeo and Juliet Who’s to blame Document D. In my opinion Mr. Capulet is the reason Juliet later fakes her death to get out of the marriage between her and Paris.
Romeo did not know about the arrangement and wasn't given a decent explanation, so he believed Juliet was truly dead. This is shown in Document C, third note, "Now married to Romeo, Juliet asks Friar Laurence to help her avoid marrying Paris. The remedy is Friar Laurence's plan for Juliet to fake her own death." Other evidence was given in Document E, second note, "Friar Laurence is unable to deliver the letter informing Romeo that Juliet is not actually dead." Without proper clarification, Romeo has decided to kill himself by drinking poison.
People believe that Romeo and Juliet’s deaths had been caused by their old family feud. As that may be true, that is not the whole truth of what really happened. This all went down in William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, where two teens of enemies fall in love, and take their own lives for each other. In reality, it had all been a misunderstanding. Romeo and Juliet are partially responsible for their own deaths as they acted too quickly, but their families feuding, and Friar Laurence’s interference had also caused their deaths.
The Feud between the Capulets and the Montagues are one of the factors to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet cannot see each other because of the rivalry of the families so they get married without telling their parents. Then when Juliet will not marry Paris, making her father upset with her, she fakes her own death so she can be with Romeo. Romeo, thinking Juliet’s death is real, kills himself to be with her and after Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead, she kills herself. If the families would have let Romeo and Juliet be together instead of forcing Juliet to marry Paris, Juliet would not have faked her death.
(2.2.59) His name regulated his life and made him enemies with the Capulet people. His name got him into a hating and fighting lifestyle. He was born a Montague, which means he was brought into a life full of resentment and fighting with the Capulet people. All the evidence above proves that hatred decided Romeo's fate because of his abomination for his name.
Juliet's parents forced her to marry Paris, which led her to take the risky decision of faking her own death. The parents don't have any support for juliet. If they would just have not let her marry Paris then many things would have been changed. The parents are so stubborn and full of hatred. Romeo and Juliet likely would have been a good match for each other.
Romeo and Juliet's families hate each other and have had a feud for many years. Without this ancient feud Romeo and Juliet would have been able to freely love each other without having to be secret. Romeo's death was influenced by the hate between the two families. The reader is able to inference this from the Montague's and the Capulet's ancient feud. "
The Path of Hate and Feud to Death. When Mercutio dies, Romeo gets filled with anger and kills Tybalt, causing all the horrible events that follow. The story of Romeo and Juliet is about two young teens falling in love with families that despise each other. Eventually, the hate gets out of control, and they die.
To begin with, the two families were in a feud. The grudge between the two families made Romeo and Juliet want to hide their love to prevent any further damage to the broken relationship. It was clear that because of the feud, both families would not approve of the bond between the two children. Juliet's father claimed that he would disown her if she didn't marry who he wanted and will disapprove of anyone else. The family riot caused the children to continue their doings in secrecy to avert problematic situations.
Romeo and Juliet could be together if their families had no hate for each other. Their death was led by hate and it is proved because the Montague and Capulets couldn't be civil with each other. Next, Juliet is on the balcony talking about Romeo's name. The writer claims in the text “Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And i'll no longer be a Capulet.” (2. 2.
The family feud causes Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves with their love still a secret. If the two families hadn’t been fighting then Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have had to keep their love a secret and they wouldn’t have had to fake Juliet’s death which lead to both of them really dieing. The two of the families fighting caused them to keep their love a secret and eventually their deaths, which all started with family. The two kids died with their families still fighting and the story ending and
They knew if they expressed their love to the enemies heir to their parents, they would either get disowned or they would trigger a newer, bigger riot. After Romeo and Juliet’s death, Capulets
Juliet’s family wanted Juliet to marry Paris so she had to hide her love for Romeo; knowing her parents weren’t going to be supportive for her relationship with Romeo. If there was not a family feud Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have to hide there love for each other. The family feud is one of the main reasoning behind the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Even though Romeo and Juliet committed suicide, their untimely deaths are ultimately caused by the fate and family
For example, when Tybalt kills Mercutio Romeo is angry and kills Tybalt because he is filled with hatred. The reason that they even fight is because of a old dispute between the two families. This dispute is the cause of many fights between the two families. This long time dispute is caused by a mutual hate between the two families and is why hate is stronger than love in this story.
Hate impacts society more than love because hate can affect people directly and indirectly. In Romeo and Juliet early on we learn that two families hate each other the Montagues and Capulets Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. Their families ancient grudge causes a downward spiral of death and sadness throughout the whole story and everybody is affected in a negative way because of the families grudge. In the story a young couple falls madly in love but their love is denied by multiple obstacles leading back to their families grudge. Romeo meets Juliet at a capulet party and they instantly fall in love not knowing each other is a part of their families rival.
