In the novel, Frankenstein, the author, Mary Shelley, uses frame story to express different viewpoints of each character. These figures include Robert Walton, Victor Frankenstein, and the Creature. Within these traits, Mary Shelley explicitly uses the Creature as her primary focus. She uses the Creature because she wants readers to understand how humanity rejects people due to their appearances instead of their inner self. Due to the monster 's appearances, humanity rejects him.
“The Beasts” The beast in the novel Grendel does not stray to far away from the monster in the book Frankenstein. These two creatures are both misunderstood which makes them do what they do, while they are just trying to fit in. The two monsters both handle rejecting and defeat very differently.
The creature learned what "bitter indignation" was and how to be "cruel" based on the way the villagers and his own creator treated him. The Creature is human because he has all the same emotional traits as we do, he may not look like us, but the thing that makes us human is making mistakes, " My feeling hurt. My heart aches. I cry. I feel sorry for myself.
The Creature commences as “benevolent and good” (pg. 69) as he firstly observes the positive aspects of mankind. The positive nature of mankind is emphasized by the deeds of the two younger cottagers who “several times placed food before the old man when they reserved none for themselves.” (pg. 77) The deeds taken by the two cottagers deeply affected the Creature as it demonstrates the human ability of unselfishness and the effect of human kindness. The creature states that “this trait of kindness moved me sensibly”
“I thought that I might be able to restore happiness to them,” he said. Another example of the creature been kind is when he saved the little girl form dying in the river. However, by the end of the novel things change. The creature became another person; when he kills his first victim he tasted evil.
After reading, I discovered that the point of view in this essay was very important. You can clearly understand what the creature is saying in the excerpt. Also he’s telling it from first person too. I can somewhat see how it relates to some people. For example, when he says that he wants to become friends with the villagers but they don’t like him.
Yes , Having a good family teaches you about love and kindness and the creature would have had grown to love each and everyone of the humans , without a loving caring family you grow up to be just like the monster did , cause you have nobody to teach you how to love or someone to just observe and learn stuff from them. The creature grew up without a family and through out his life everyone was treating him bad and he didn't know the gift of forgiveness so he let all his anger build up inside of him and when he finally let it out it wasn't cute. SO yes a loving family would have prevented all of this negtivity from happening. Without a loving family the monster began to search for love and when he figured out he wouldnt get love from the humans
The novel “Frankenstein,” by Mary Shelley tells the story of a man named Victor Frankenstein, who decides to go against the laws of nature by bringing to life a being constructed with decaying body parts. Victor believes in natural philosophy and science, which leads him to the idea of creating this Creature. Although this novel can be interpreted in many ways, I believe that Mary Shelley is shining a light on the harmful and dangerous impacts that prejudice and assumptions can have on people who are considered different. Shelley may be suggesting that humanity is the true 'monster ' due to its socialized ideologies that make ambition, self-greed and rage fulfilling. Even to this day society is known to shun those who we do not see as equals.

The Creature in Frankenstein Mary Shelly’s “Frankenstein” is an inspirational work of horror and science fiction; it is the narrative of an unorthodox act of creation, of a monster which torments his miserable creator. The author puts forth ideas, and reinforces it through the development of the plot, that mankind is capable of both good and evil. Shelly demonstrates the ‘humanity’ of the creature; his actions and his inclination are like those of mankind. Indeed, even the negative aspect of his character, demonstrated through his quest for revenge, has a parallel in the actions of his human creator. In Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” the creature is represented as being vicious and murderous but he is not inherently evil or malicious.
Do you consider the monster a human? We are already know the meaning of human, but are we know what the monster is? The monster in people’s mind generally is the one who has horribleness, ugliness, or the unnatural body. Will it have some people do not look only appearance but his or her heart.
Nature seems to mock the creature, as “the cold stars shone in mockery” because “all, save [him], were at rest or enjoyment”, due to the creature’s loss of his only near-companions (117, Chapter 16). Simple cottage folk that he observed from a great distance were his only source of contact to the world. He wished for their friendship, however, he was only met with their horror and disgust. The creature only desires friends who will show him love and affection but receives only pain and suffering. Because he never gains the love of any person he meets, his depressed demeanor is revealed through his depressing descriptions of dark and decaying nature.

• I began reading this novel with the mindset that it wouldn’t deviate much from the basic plot, but throughout the novel, I noticed that many interesting elements were built into the plot. To me, the strangest aspect of this novel was the complexity of the Creature. While he had many physical markers of a typical monster, there was much more to him than just his hideous appearance and towering stature. The Creature had a true personality, one in which he longed for compassion, knowledge, and a meaningful life. He was emotional, intelligent, and insightful.
When reading through the novel some might question who's the real monster? Throughout Frankenstein Mary Shelley uses the concepts of Science and knowledge, social rejection and true evil. Victor is a lonely guy who takes on a “God like” role for his personal satisfaction. Victor creates the monster out of his greed and ambitions which led to many of the horrible events throughout the story. He was portrayed as the victim at the beginning of the story because of how secluded he was and his mother died.
