Essay On Biggie Smalls Hip Hop

1 Hip-Hop is a style of popular music of US black and Hispanic origin, featuring rap with an electronic backing. “Like any style of music, hip hop has roots in other forms, and its evolution was shaped by many different artists, but there’s a case to be made that it came to life precisely on this day in 1973, at a birthday party in the recreation room of an apartment building in the west Bronx, New York City” (History.com Staff). As Hip-Hop is such a broad genre in music, there are many sub-divisions as well. I find my three favorite artist of these sub-divisions to be Biggie Smalls, Future, LL Cool J.
Born May 21, 1972 Christopher George Latore Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls, was born in Brooklyn, New York City. Biggie Smalls is considered to be an artist under the genre of Hip-Hop. However, he is considered to be an East-Coast Hip-Hop rapper. After leaving jail for the first time, Christopher Wallace recorded a demo tape under the alias Biggie Smalls, a character from the movie Let’s Do It Again. After finding out that name was taken, he changed his name to The Notorious B.I.G. Biggie had a voice that just sounded like it was heavy, funky and rhythmic, because of this flow he is known for

For that reason Hip-Hop is the type of music that I prefer. For example, the Hip-Hop artists Biggie Smalls, Future, and LL Cool J relate their different divisions to me. Mostly due to their lyricism or beatism, I enjoy these artists’ way of expressing Hip-Hop. 3 Future is my inspiration for my music because I can relate to his music. The flow of Biggie Smalls is somewhat the reason why I include my life in my music, and LL Cool J provides that battle-rapper grittiness that I also include in my music. As I am an up and coming rapper myself, I find these artists to be some of my biggest inspirations, regardless of the division of Hip-Hop that they are
