Radric Davis, better known as Gucci Mane is a rapper. He is from Atlanta, Georgia but eventually moved to Birmingham, Alamabama with his single mother in the fourth grade. His rapping career started very young. He has been writing poems since he was in elementary school but did not start rapping until he reached about age fourteen. By fourteen he had already been spending time in a recording studio. Many famous rapper at the time such as Big Daddy Kane took interest in him and told him to put his words to music.

Tupac became a rapper and began performing as an MC in New York. He emerged as a solo artist. Tupac scored a hit song called “The Humpty Dance”. He sold 75 million albums. Tupac moved to Oakland, California for hip-hop.

Many people think that king tut was murdered. He was a very young king and died at the age of 19 and ruled for 19 years. Around the year 1324 bc. When they found tut he was on the ground and his leg was broken right above the knee. And it is believed his body was found on a battlefield.

Hip hop critics believe that hip hop is a violent subculture and supports crime and violence, but research has shown that there is no direct correlation between the two. One hip-hop artist that goes against this stereotype is Kanye Omari West. Mr. West lyrics allows the listener to understand that you don’t have to rap about having money and cars to get someone’s attention. In Kanye West’s Homecoming, he said, “Reach for the stars, so if you fall you land on the clouds.” This is an influential quote that encourages the listener to reach for their goals, but if you happen to fail on the way it’ll be ok because you have a comfort system to be there for you.

King Tut has died a mysterious death. There are three theories I believed that have caused King Tut’s death. One theory was murder, I think he might have been murder by Aye and Horemheb. Another theory was an illness. The third theory was a chariot crash.

Later on Shakur’s fiance Kidada Jones came to the hospital and sat next to him and played the song Don Mclean's - Vincent on a CD player next to his bedside and she kept saying I love you, we love you over and over and he moaned, then as she was leaving he convulsed and then went straight into a coma that they would soon realize he would never come out of. Tupac’s eyes were swollen and filled with discharge as he lay in the hospital bed and had his last thoughts. The case is still unsolved till this day, but there are a lot of theories as to who may of killed Tupac Shakur even though there is no real evidence as into who could of killed the beloved rapper. The were many witnesses to the shooting of Tupac because there was a trail of ten vehicles in a pursuit or entourage behind Tupac and Knight at that time with other people in the music business with their own bodyguards.

The death of Tupac was a shock to a lot of people. No one really knows why someone would want to kill Tupac. One article says that Biggie Smalls Paid a gang $1 million to kill Tupac”(Moss)”. “There was a big Rivalry between Biggie Smalls and Tupac”( Moss)”. There is a big argument on if the death of Tupac caused the death of Biggie smalls, and there are some articles that say yes and some articles that “yes” it did and some that say “no” it didn’t.

The block parties, graffiti art, rapping, disc jockeying and diverse forms of dancing built Hip Hop by the black youth. They expressed their feelings, thoughts, but most importantly the problems they had to face, which were related to their race, gender and social positions. The rights that were given to black people during and after the Civil Rights Movement left the following generations at a lack of how to continue the fight for black rights. Hip Hop gave them this platform and with the usage of black nationalism, Hip Hop can explore the challenges that confront American-Americans in the post-Civil Rights Movement era. In the 1990’s Hip Hop lived its prime, sub genres started to appear and famous groups, MCs led the whole community, providing a voice to a group of people trying to deliver their message.

2Pac suspected Biggie of setting him up and he had his reasons for it. At the time, they were the 2 most popular rappers in the United States, doing the biggest numbers regarding record sales. Tupac probably thought that Biggie arranged an assassination attempt for him in order to eliminate him and then claim the throne of the biggest rapper in the US. Right after the shooting 2Pac went to prison and the moment he was released he started consciously attacking Biggie in any way he could. When Hip Hop emerged throughout the late 70s, new artists were experimenting with an advancement in technology and used various devices including turntables to create certain beats. As time went on, Hip Hop turned the page to more of a lyrical genre where artists ultimately began using words in their lyrics to convey a certain theme or message to the public eye.

The negative aspect of this is that since big corporations control the music’s distribution channels, in many cases the rap artist is forced to produce the type of music that according to the owner is marketable.

Nowadays, everyone wears the identity with pride. The genre was a testament to triumphing over hardships, to having enough confidence in oneself not to let the world drag you down, and to rising above the struggle, even when things seem hopeless. Violence in rap did not begin as an affective agent that threatened to harm America 's youth; rather, it was the outcry of an already-existing problem from youth whose world views have been shaped by the inequalities and prejudice they have experienced. The relentless wave of heroic new rappers arriving on the scene formed the golden age of hip hop in the 1980s, a newfound voice which rose from the impoverished ghettos during the 1980s and inspiring a generation of black youth to fight the police brutality they faced on a daily basis.

“Beyond Beats and Rhymes” Summary This movie was a broad discussion about hip-hop music (or more specifically gangster rap) and what kind of social issues the music not only showcases but seems to promote. The producer of this film, Byron Hunt, interviewed people involved in all aspects of the hip-hop industry, including famous rappers, to try to get to the bottom of this. Some of the most prominent issues discussed in the film were the over-sexualization of women, gun violence, and anti- homophobic attitudes. Hunt would ask those involved in the industry about why they think these themes are so prevalent.

LL Cool J was responsible for teaching Eminem to rap about girls, Rakim was deep and very specific in his wordplay, Boogie Down Productions were an alternative to school as their work was educational and the Emcees being honest and real with their words, inspired Eminem to do the same.
