The question of who is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet can be complicated. Almost everybody in the play can be blamed because everybody has pitched in a little. There are many characters in the play by William Shakespeare who wronged Romeo and Juliet. The characters that contributed the most to Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths are Friar Laurence, Lord Capulet and Paris. First of all, Friar Laurence is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he has done some stuff that Romeo didn’t know about. That lead to a big misunderstanding. First, Friar Laurence gives Juliet a potion which will make her look dead, but it actually makes people sleep for 48 hours. That makes Juliet concerned because she likes Romeo. First, he tells Juliet to marry Paris which she doesn’t want to happen. This is found in Act 3 scene 5. Second, Lord Capulet rages at Juliet when he notices that she doesn’t want to marry Paris. He then tells Juliet that he will never see her again.That can also be found in Act 3 scene 5. Finally, those are all my thoughts on why Lord Capulet is also responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Additionally, Paris is responsible for the death of the Juliet. She never wanted to marry him. First, Juliet was suppose to get married to Paris. She didn’t want to so she drank the potion that knocks her out for 48 hours. This can be found in Act 4 scene 1. Second, Juliet drank the potion which made her look dead and Romeo killed himself. Those are my reasons why Paris is responsible for the death of the couple. In conclusion, they have all pitched in a little for the couples death. Friar Laurence gave Juliet the potion. Lord Capulet threatens Juliet to marry Paris.
