Introduction:
The European Union (EU) is a political and economic partnership represents a unique form of cooperation between sovereign countries. The Union is the last step in a process of integration began after World War II, first by six Western European countries, to promote interdependence and make another war in Europe unthinkable. Today, the EU is composed of 28 member states, including most countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and helped to promote peace, stability and economic prosperity in the European continent.

Western Europe attempted to unify in the post-war economy, and various views arose regarding this potential unity. The unification of Western Europe was met with opinions that were largely motivated by a nation’s own economic and political interests.
How does a country be an isolationist, while intervening within other countries? Simple, be the United States. In order to focus on foreign policy from 1920 to 1941 , one must put into consideration the World War I, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and World War II’s emergence. The United States Government can be described in two ways. There is unified government, which appears when the President and both houses of congress share the same party. Divided government is the opposite, it occurs when one party controls the white house, and another party controls one or more houses of Congress. A unified government should seem to be more productive because enacting laws would be much easier. A bill has to pass through both houses of congress as well as the president before it can be an official law.
After the end of World War 1 in 1918, the US declared a policy of isolationism. Isolationism is a policy of non-involvement in other countries conflicts and politics and specifically for the US, non-involvement in European affairs. The US implemented this policy by denying the Treaty of Versailles in a vote of 39 to 55 in the Senate and consequently, did not join the League of Nations. This policy brought with it both positive and negative effects on the US. One positive effect is with isolation, the US can avoid the costs of dealing with conflicts in Europe and can avoid the negative effects on citizens.
The Aftermath of European Exploration The controversial topic of European exploration of the Americas is often times debated on. Some people say that the European exploration was a devastating event and its cons outweigh its pros. On the other hand some people say that without the European exploration the Americas would have never been colonized and become as developed as it did. Both sides of the argument have their pros and cons but some things that happened are facts and can’t be debated. European explorers started a movement called the European exploration of the Americas and this essentially caused the Americas to be colonized and develop.
President Woodrow Wilson established America’s goal for joining World War I as “making the world safe for democracy.” At the conclusion of the War, President Wilson declared fourteen principles for peace to be used during the Paris Peace Conference, called the Fourteen Points. As the Peace Conference progressed, more nations ratified the Treaty of Versailles and joined the League of Nations, the embodiment of President Wilson’s fourteenth point.
